Yes, very interesting
I clean house when listening, cleaned house REALLY well with this book.
Answered lots of "where DID he get that" questions.
It had some nicely complicated connections that required paying attention to. disappointed in the main character. Thought he was unlikable.
Not a waste of time, but I won't listen again.
That's difficult to say because I guessed the murderer. I had just seen an " Inspector Morse" and it had a very similar twist.
What I simply couldn't buy was that a fairly stable female character could learn what she did about the main character and not have serious reservations about him.
Yup. Thought the end was very John D McDonald and I like that in a mystery.
The wrap-up and sheer loathsomeness of the bad-guy reminded me of a Travis McGee story by John D McDonald.
Well I wouldn't rename it.
It was slow going to get into the story even though the writing was fun to listen to. It picked up speed toward the middle and had a satisfying conclusion. Just wish Hugh Laurie has read it.
Irreverent, thoughtful, fun
There were so many, but what got stuck in my head was "BOOM! chaka-laka-laka"
Again, hard to say. I will add that I was reading passages out loud to my husband, and even without the full context, he was laughing, too.
I was surprised at how it could be low brow and thoughtful at the same time.
Very glad my son recommended it, only wish I hadn't waited so long to listen.
It's a "how done it" - not a who dunnit ; the who turns out to be completely irrelevant. What this story is missing - is a story. Fine for people who don't like characters, plot or even good sense in their audiobooks.I want the time I wasted on this audiobook BACK! Anthony Zuiker should have his writers card revoked.
Nothing by the people who brought me this aural fecal matter.
Poor man, he must need the work. There's no other reason he'd stoop to reading such pure drivel.
Yes, it ended (but not soon enough)
None that you can post.
No, thought I was getting a Dorothy Sayers, got a wanna-be instead.
Not this author.
Yes, interesting peroid in Chinese history, fasinating culture and people.
Went out and rented "The Last Emperor" just to see the clothing described in the book.
Oh, yes. Well written and fun.
Not my favorite, prefer Steven Briggs.
Also fun to read, completely difference experience.
No, didn't like the narrator
Great to hear Asimov again 30 years after first reading. The work holds up.
