On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Researcher and thought leader Dr. Brené Brown offers a powerful new vision that encourages us to dare greatly: to embrace vulnerability and imperfection, to live wholeheartedly, and to courageously engage in our lives. In Daring Greatly, Dr. Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability. Based on 12 years of research, her book argues that vulnerability is not weakness but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection.

What made the experience of listening to Daring Greatly the most enjoyable?

I love all of Brene's work and content, but so much of her meaning comes thru in her delivery and way of speaking, the books have way more impact when it is Brene's own voice. But still it's worth listening to! Excellent Content!

What didn’t you like about Karen White’s performance?

Karen's inflections and emphasis were very different from the way Brene would have spoken and I felt there was a great deal of meaning and impact lost in the superficial interpretation of this book. I had to do my best to listen beyond the narrator to hear brene's voice and the way she would actually be saying things.

    Any additional comments?

After listening to 6 hours of Brene speaking on "The gifts of Imperfection" you can really connect with her natural and humorous way of communicating. So authentic and so much depth Brene is just awesome!
