  • The Red Circle: My Life in the Navy SEAL Sniper Corps and How I Trained America's Deadliest Marksmen

Brandon Webb's experiences in the world's most elite sniper corps are the stuff of legend. From his grueling years of training in Naval Special Operations to his combat tours in the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan, The Red Circle provides a rare and riveting look at the inner workings of the U.S. military through the eyes of a covert operations specialist. Yet it is Webb's distinguished second career as a lead instructor for the shadowy "sniper cell" that makes his story so compelling.

Robert says: "Decent story, narration left a lot to be desired."
    "Reading was terrible...great story though"

What made the experience of listening to The Red Circle: My Life in the Navy SEAL Sniper Corps and How I Trained America's Deadliest Marksmen the most enjoyable?

When the reader actually slowed down so I could understand what he was saying.

What other book might you compare The Red Circle: My Life in the Navy SEAL Sniper Corps and How I Trained America's Deadliest Marksmen to and why?

    Unique.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jon Bailey?

John Pruden or Kevin T. Collins

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Due to Jon Bailey's poor reading...not

    Any additional comments?

Don't you guys have anyone there who has been in Military or even understand the Mil. Jargon? Point is even a great story like a Red Circle can be made to sound awful when you have speed train reading it.

  • Civilian Warriors: The Inside Story of Blackwater and the Unsung Heroes of the War on Terror

Blackwater is one of the most misunderstood companies of our time. As Erik Prince, its founder and former CEO, writes: "Hundreds of American citizens employed by private military contractors, or PMCs, would lose their lives helping our government wage wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, only to have their memory tarnished by the unfair and/or ignorant depiction of PMCs as profiteers, jackbooted thugs, or worse."

Would you try another book from Erik Prince and/or Jeff Gurner?

No thanks. When Prince steps down from his own throne...which would never happen, sadly.

What could Erik Prince have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Be truthful about all facts first. When prince started this (he calls it book) joke of a story he mentions certain... he calls them 'facts'...about countries, that he visited. His distorted view of his visits does not give him the right to call certain countries communist (?) since I lived in one of those countries and it was no communist. Also his continuos plead for us, general public, that he and his b(l)ackwater was/were 'misunderstood'. Since we needed them more then our country recognizes it...WTF? Mercenaries are necessary where there is a specific need for them...in a time of war. Not a fake war that Bush/Cheney administration created out od it's own ass. But do we need to listen to his BS and attempt at brainwashing us how 'honorable' they were. Of course he can't say that him kissing Bushes ass and justifying war has helped him became Billionaire. Bringing 41 of his contractors dead from those conflicts with no proper Life Insurance policies paid by backwater(pun intended) has left families of those fallen in action rather upset of him handling the whole debacle.

What character would you cut from Civilian Warriors?

    Prince

    Any additional comments?

Prince, do the right thing for those fallen comrades from your backwater(pun intended) days. Set up a plan that retirees from Special Forces units upon their completion of service or wounded can be reentered in to our society as productive citizens. And Dead ones family have something to help them through tough times ahead. Why? Since our government is not providing that service and you got paid from them for doing the opposite by putting veterans back in to the war zone. And since you'r net worth is 2.5 bil. it should not be too hard for jack ass like you to do the right thing.
And Audible... I would like my money back for this 'book'.
    Over and out.

When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan - but he was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, "I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me."

Where does Fearless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Fearless is in every sense state of the mind we wish we can be when tough decisions and actions are needed. Adam did just that on a daily basis through his job, family interactions, faith and he taught us in the process how to deal with our daily 'excuses' and to create decisive actions. Great man, husband, father and hero has given his life for his team and country and we should never forget what sacrifices our men & women make on daily basis so we can have our freedom. Thank you Adam, Family and Seal Team 6.

What other book might you compare Fearless to and why?

    Chris Kyle

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

    Ok

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Whole book.

    Any additional comments?

    Thank you Adam.
