This is a very weak story with undeveloped characters. Time is valuable so, I did not waste my time trying to finish it!.
We own all of Carl Hiaasen books, in print and audio! This was another very good story, but the narrator was not good! In my opinion, he did well with the oil company people and a few of adult male voices, but was terrible with the kids, and women! I nearly put the book away, and gave up! A most annoying voice, and a lot like listening to Burt Reynolds read. I may go to the library and check out a hard copy, instead of listening to this whole thing!
I finally got around, to listening, and was greatly disappointed by the narrator! In my opinion, he ruined a perfectly good story! Burt! Nevermore!!!!
I found this story to be so far fetched and improbable that it was difficult for me to finish this book. It just seemed to drag on with details so the author could complete the book.
The idea of using a hypnotist to assist in solving a murder is a great idea for a mystery but the narrator has a very monotone voice that puts me to sleep. Plus the story isn't told in a chronological method so at times it is confusing. I often have to go back and listen to a chapter over again. I probably would not purchase another book by this author. I am still trying to get through it.
Don't let the gruesome beginning keep you from continuing on with this book. You will travel around the world from the 1800's to the present. I know I will reread this book many times!
This last book in the trilogy does not disappoint. It brought all the plots and characters full circle. I feel like I know them all.
This latest book filled with the antics of Stephanie and Lula do not disappoint! I love the chemistry between all of the characters. I am so glad I am not her mother!
