YES! Great story line! If you like National Treasure, you will like this story too!
There are so many memorable moments in this story. I loved the artifacts & cave scenes,. Also loved the concept that a machine from way back when could cause Tsunami's! WOW!!!
As far as I know, this is the 1st book I listened to by this narrator. He did a good job, delivered the story well, plenty of excitement!
Past & present collide with Mythology!
Excellent story! Well delivered. Loads of excitement. Murder, mayhem, mythology, puzzle solving, adventure, action-packed dangerous thrill ride!
This is a collection of many short stories. Inside this book is something for everyone. We all will like at least 1 or 2 if not more of these stories and some of us will like them all! This audio book is done in a UK accent and author is UK, so keep in mind, some words and /or manners are more funny over there than over here in the USA and not all words mean the same thing. I happen to love listening to accents!
Some of these are funny, some are touching and some just need to be told. My favorite in this book was the story of a man whose family was killed in an accident by a drunk driver who was a lawyer and got off, along with what this man did for his own justice. It was touching and emotional and in a few minutes, tore my heart out! I loved it. To listen as this man told his story is unforgettable.
The author, Pete Sortwell did another fine job writing this book. His narrator, Ian Barker did a splendid job with all his multiple voices and there was a lot of them too! I loved the emotion added into the voices! Good job guys!
This book is very funny. This is a comedy about different quips of items for sale and short stories done in multiple voices. The material is refreshingly funny. My favorite (if I was to pick one) was the man running in a political race / also a real race. Along with the silly string & six packs.
Pete Sortwell, the author has his own style when it comes to comedy and it seems like he never runs out of material. He is witty & funny & makes me laugh my bottom off! His narrator, Tony Scheinman did a good job delivering these funny lines to us with so many different voices, which only added to the charm. Great job guys!
This is the boxset of both It's All Bollocks (book 1) and A Load of S*** (book 2).
Book 1:This is a collection of old-fashioned rants by a grumpy man. He loves to carry on and finds negatives in everything. He also informs us of all that can go wrong does. I found several reasons to chuckle in this. Some of it I could even relate to. To me, the funniest part is I think we all know someone like this in real life!
Book 2:I enjoyed book 2 better than book one. Angry Dave is back with his rants on the world, bosses, kids, parking etc... Lots of laughs here and Angry Dave points out the really dumb things people do too.
The author, Angry Dave did a good job making me laugh over and over again. There is loads of laughs here along with other forms of comedy. Picture a stand up comedian and you get the idea. This would be great to play at a party. The narrator David T Cummudgeon did a good job delivering the lines to us too! Good job guys!
Here I am in book 3 of Marlayna Glynn Brown's memoirs of her life...
In Book 1, Overlay - We read about the little girl Marlayna . How she grew up , what kind of life she had, how her parents raised or didn't raise her and the abuse she took as she grew up in Las Vegas back in the 1970s and her attempted suicide as a teen.
In Book 2, City of Angeles - We read about Marlayna moving to live with her Mother in Los Angeles. Then we read about Marlayna falling in love and making a family. She bought a house and raised 4 kids. Then we learn what happened to that marriage.
In Book 3, Big as all Hell and Half of Texas - We learn how Marlayna was able to pick herself and her kids up and move to another state and a whole new beginning. Marlayna's kids grow up and of people who come and go in Marlayna's life as friends and/or lovers. We also learn how Marlayna's depression blew up on her.
This entire series has been an eye opener for me. What a strong woman Marlayna had to be to overcome all her problems that happened in her life. The life events that happened to her which made her the strong woman she is today is amazing. I can truly understand the need to write this series and I can also see how Marlayna's history can help others.
This is one fantastic series! The author Marlayna Glynn Brown did a fantastic job writing this memoir in such a way that it is more like a novel. This is the best memoir I have ever read! The narrator, Abby Elvidge delivered a flawless series making this read easy on the ears and very memorable. I loved her multiple voices and accents too! I was really pleased to see the same narrator for the complete series. Great job ladies and thank you giving us all the chance to read about your life Maralayna! You are one strong woman!!! You made me laugh and cry with you thru your journey. I grew up with all these facts in your books and they are spot on. Every time another major event happened in history in your book, I said to myself, I remember that! All three books are 5 star reads!
I enjoyed book 2 better than book one. Angry Dave is back with his rants on the world, bosses, kids, parking etc... Lots of laughs here and Angry Dave points out the really dumb things people do too.
The author, Angry Dave did a good job bringing up situations that make no sense at all to normal folk and a lot of sense to a small part of our population. I found plenty to chuckle about here. Even more, Angry Dave made some very good points. The narrator did a good job delivering these rants to us. I am even getting use to the deep voice. Good job guys!
This is a collection of old-fashioned rants by a grumpy man. He loves to carry on and finds negatives in everything. He also informs us of all that can go wrong does. I found several reasons to chuckle in this. Some of it I could even relate to. To me, the funniest part is I think we all know someone like this in real life!
The author, Angry Dave did a good job writing this. After hearing the material, the cover makes even more sense to me now. The narrator, David T Curmudgeon did well delivering the lines to us. Though it did take me a bit of time to get use to the low voice.
This is my 3rd book by Katie Graykowski. I love her writing style. This book doesn't disappoint us either. I think this book is her best yet!
Long ago when Laney was a teen she went to camp and fell in love with a boy she met there, DJ. Laney never saw DJ again and she never forgot him. Now Laney is a Pediatric oncologist. Laney loves and cares for all the sick kids with cancer.
Devon is a pro football player. He fell in love once upon a time too. Devon has spent half of his life searching for EJ, the girl he fell in love with long ago. Read along as both Devon and Laney look for their soul mates. I would say more but it will spoil the story!
Laura is a sick little girl with Leukemia. Though Laura is only 6, she is more grown up than most adults are and she doesn't have any family. Laura has a way of making everyone fall in love with her, even a big team of football men!
This book is wonderful! I loved the characters of Laura and Sweet Louise too. The author, Katie Graykowski once again gives us a story we can't live without. Her plot is there & the story is fantastic with fun, romance, love and tears. Yes you will need tissues for this book. I love a story that makes me cry! The narrator, Pam Dougherty delivers us a flawless tale complete with accents and emotions. I have read other books with this narrator and she never lets me down!
OH MY GOD!!! This book had me on the edge of my seat. This story is about a disturbed psychopathic boy who grows up to be a net killer. Someone is finding women on the internet, setting up dates and murdering them 1 by 1. With each murder comes a new poem.
Jen always wanted to be a police officer, just like her father was. Jen knew risks came with the job as her father had died answering a police call. Even though the police academy had denied Jen enrollment, it isn't going to stop her from playing cop. Jen asks Matt to help her with his computer expertise for clues. Read along as Jen and Matt try to discover the identity of the Net Killer.
I loved the poems that came attached to these murders. I loved the whole book actually. The author, Matthew W Grant had me gripping the arms of my chair in the very end. I couldn't do anything but listen as the words echoed...One got Nosy and then there were none! What a great writing job this author did. The plot had me wondering the whole time who it could be. With each time I just knew who the killer was, I learned once again I was wrong! There are so many twists and turns in this book. The narrator, Jeannie Lin did a fantastic job on at delivering this story to us. I loved all the multiple voices and the sound effects added in where freaking fantastic. The amount of emotions this narrator added to the story only amplified my fear! A definite 5 star read!!!
This book is so funny, you will laugh your butt off or maybe fall down face first in something undesirable (lol). This book is about poking fun at village idiots. They do such dumb things it make you just want to say IDIOT!!! The funniest part to me was the penis pump, OMG and then there was the drunks. The guy who scraped his bed sheets was hilarious too.
The author, Pete Sortwell is genius in his materials. Listening to this book is like listening to a stand up comic or at the very least, one who has been drinking (pun intended). The narrator, Chris Dabbs did a good job expressing the authors intent in the tons of laughs. If you are feeling down and need a pick me up or just want something to start a party off, this would be it!
Wow, what a story! Here we are in book 2 of Memoirs of Marlayna Glynn Brown. In book one we learned about How Marlayna grew up and memories from as far back as she could remember from being a toddler thru her High School years. Now in book 2, we get to learn of what life was like beyond her High School Days. How Marlayna got married , had children, took trips, jobs she had and so on.
Wow Marlayna, you sure had a rough life! I felt so bad for you fighting for your marriage. I cried over the kitten. I would have called the cops on Billy - he is just plain creepy! It is amazing you even were able to hold it together! I remember the Rodney King riots and the OJ times too. There is an old saying that what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger! I picture this to be so true with you and your life. I am willing to bet, your children turned out to be better people from your life experiences. I know mine did! It is the wiseness (hindsight) we gain from bad situations that help's us make our kids even smarter.
The author, Marlayna Glynn Brown does a fantastic job telling us how life was for her and her children. Once again her facts are spot on. Listening to this memoir had me remembering so many things that happened in history... That earthquake was horrible! The narrator, Abby Elvidge did a fabulous job once again delivering this memoir to us. The speech is very clear and those accents were awesome! Great job ladies!
