Would you listen to Meditation for Pain Relief again? Why?

Yes, I listen to this often. I would reccomend this meditation to anyone with chronic pain due to arthritis, back injuries, surgeries or any pain issues. Why? Because it helps me.

What other book might you compare Meditation for Pain Relief to and why?

Almost any other meditation or relaxation books are good. You may find them to be somewhat pricy for the length of the book but when you factor in the benefits they are very much worth the money. If this isn't in your budget there are plenty of free sources out there if you look but this is convenient.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There isn't really a scene with meditation but the meditation is very relaxing and does actually alleviate pain.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Meditation for Pain Relief?

The insight that I appy to this book is that there are multiple relaxation methods out there and it allows me to focus on my pain so that I can take my focus off my pain. It is very interesting how this meditation works.

    Any additional comments?

I wish that audible had an automatic repeat option button on the manager because I listen to this when I lay down at night and I sometimes wake up after the meditation and have to get up from a pain free relaxed position and replay or play another meditation or book. Also, it would be great if there were a longer book such as a compilation of meditations lasting overall around 6,7, or 8 hours. This would be more convenient and more affordable.

Donald R. Prothero explains the scientific process and why society has come to rely on science not only to provide a better life but also to reach verifiable truths no other method can obtain. He describes how major scientific ideas that are accepted by the entire scientific community (evolution, anthropogenic global warming, vaccination, the HIV cause of AIDS, and others) have been attacked with totally unscientific arguments and methods.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this book to a friend because it is very interesting and with her holding a B.A. in Anthropology she would eat this up as they teach evolution in college.

Would you be willing to try another book from Donald R. Prothero? Why or why not?

I think this book was all over the place. Too much back and forth but that doesn't take away the fact that it was an interesting book.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Science is based on methods and theories and pseudoscience is everything else? I think that's what I got from this book. I heard multiple references to science versus creationism. I can agree with what the author said about the Cambrian Explosion but not necessarily the fact that creationists haven't done their homework.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    An unbiased look at both.

Would you try another book from K. S. Haigwood and/or Troy Duran?

Yes in the future I would possibly consider trying another book by K. S. Haigwood and Troy Duran. I just wasn't sure this was a good match. The author is very talented and moving in the right direction.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have stuck with Erin Mallon to fulfill the second book in the series or both her and Troy Duran with parts in the story. I felt that the story was very arduous in length.

What three words best describe Troy Duran’s performance?

I think Troy Duran has what it takes and is a good narrator. I was listening for more of how the narration and the story flowed. I felt there were too many long pauses and that it was at times pitchy.

Did Hell's Gift inspire you to do anything?

Yes I felt almost compelled to not review this book after seeing a posting of 15 five star reviews however I want to be true to the author and narrator and also true to myself.

One popular type of yoga today is Korean Yoga. Yoga is a several-thousand-year-old tradition that has pervaded multiple countries and cultures, evolving and branching into numerous subgroups and styles. Although the roots of the practice are in South Asia, mainly inside of India, there are major schools of yoga across the globe. One very divergent method of practicing yoga is the Korean technique. Avoiding most of the traditional poses inherent in Indian Hatha yoga, Korean yoga more closely resembles Zumba and Tai-Chi in certain aspects.

Yoga does have misconceptions however it is the way to go when you need to upwind or unwind. This is for beginners and as it says you must discuss any and all activity with your doctor beforehand. With that being said there is some great information in this quick introduction. Yoga is the harmonizing and balancing of the body and mind. True yoga is about being awake and being mindful. It is a process that releases blocked tensions. Yoga IS a science. It explains what yoga means, the essence of yoga, the many health benefits that yoga can provide and the 6 major types of yoga. Hatha yoga being the most popular and probably the best for beginners. If you decide that yoga is something you would want or if you already do yoga, this guide will give some great web links and great advice. Consistancy and regularity are keys to being successful.
Caroline Miller did a wonderful job explaining this. She spoke clearly and was very easy to follow and understand.

I liked the way that Abraham Stroud was a seer and was able to envision colonies of supernatural creatures. The plate in his frontal cortex from the battlefiend during Vietnam causes him to hear sounds that no one else can hear. He is unsure whether it's a genetic gift or a cursed gene. This was an interesting take on zombies being interconnected and controlled by ancient demons going back to the Egyptian pyramids where Stroud had been on a dig and uncovered a cache of crystal skulls including a very rare basalt skull at the same time the Etruscan ship had been uncovered in New York. Overall I liked the story although a few times I felt that it had too much going on back and forth which was a little confusing. At times I wasn't sure where I was at in the story.
I really enjoyed Robert Neil DeVoe's narration. He had great flow and ease with his voice and a good character distinction. I hope to hear more from him in the future.

My Stupid Girl is a delighful story about a group of friends growing up together in the wonderful world of teenage angst and drama. It was very enjoyable and I think everyone can relate to this in some way or another. The story is told in first person by David, who is the protagonist. It begins with him hanging out with his crazy fun friends who all refer to themselves as ‘freaks’ and he meets the love of his life, Lucy when he saves her from falling through the ice while skating on the lake.
They were two teenagers from different worlds who by happenstance save EACH OTHERS lives and fall in love through growing pains and angst, love and hate, and ups and downs. From boy to man and girl to woman. Through love and a higher power and a loving grandma, they manage to make it. And in the end, when David is asked how they met, he says that Lucy saved his life one day.
The narrator did a very nice job with this story. I was impressed at how he actually sounded like a teenager. Job well done. I hope to hear more from David Dietz in the future.

This is a wonderful book on how to start getting the sleep that everybody needs in order to function at their highest, most effective level. By following the guidelines it will produce results. I found that this book has some valuable methods to really improve not only the quantity but the quality of sleep as well. And truly in this day and age we live a more fast paced lifestyle where we tend to neglect an important part of our well being which is adequate sleep. It explains your internal body process; in other words your body clock. It teaches us the importance of sleep and how it is necessary in maintaining good health. There is a science to sleep. This book tells you the occurrence, the stages, and the duration that is needed. It is very interesting to learn of the stages as rem (rapid eye movement) isn't the only sleep stage. I found this to be very good information and I intend to follow through and learn to sleep better and longer. Also another serious issue that many people suffer from is insomnia. I especially took away some great information on the causes and possible remedies of insomnia with some good things to do during the day and evening to wind down for a good night's sleep. I have personally tried some of these tips to prepare for a restful sleep and they do indeed work but you do have to discipline yourself. And lastly, there are some great home remedies that you can try as well. It works. You can break that cycle of poor sleeping habits and get into the comfort zone for a good night's sleep. It takes a little effort and sticking to it. The author Kyle Richards does a great job explaining how it all works and John N. Gully did a terrific job narrating this book. His pace was perfect and was very easy to follow. It was a good, informative listen. I really enjoyed it and learned some things too. I look forward to more from both the author and the narrator in the future. I received this audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

    Story

I really enjoyed listening to Death by Committee. It was fun and easy to listen to. The story revolves around the main character of Susan Lombardi who after seven years received tenure at Metropolitan University where she is asked to become a member of the department evaluating committee. There are many fun and interesting characters in the story including Abby who currently has tenure and in the end remains in tenure. Everyone on the committee including and especially Nannette wants Abby out and will stop at nothing to rid her of the position. There is much political squabbling and deception taking place and also a group of radical students who decide to go on a hunger strike. I like how the book begins with Susan having a sign taped on the front of her computer saying "Tenured means never having to say yes, I'll serve on that committee". Another fun character in this story is her best friend Elaine and her boyfriend Jon Henninger who is an author but Elaine is unable to find any of the books he's written and suspects he writes under a pen name so she has him investigated by a detective friend of Susans named Mark Golden or Private Dick as she sometimes refers to him. What he learns is interesting. And Swash, Susan's husband whose Aunt Rose has died reunites with his family. They are jealous of his past inheritance and are always bickering back and forth but then decide it's time to get together and become closer as a family. This book was just overall a fun listen. I had no idea throughout how this story was going to end. Great job by the author Carole B. Shmurak. Also I can't even begin to say what a terrific job Barbara Benjamin-Creel did with the character's voices. She has fantastic voice characterization and I loved her accents. She also kept the story at a perfect pace. I look forward to listening to more from both her and the author. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great mystery thriller.

I think this is a beautifully told story of the Native American way and the true way of all Life as it should be. This story has many messages but most importantly that the Earth is our Mother and she should be respected and honored by us as humans only passing through. I love Feather and his wolf White Paws and how they met. Truly amazing. One of my favorite lessons in this book is about The Pipe of Truth and its true meaning of how it teaches us about the joy of life. The greater good. And Flying Raven, while referring to the lodge said it was like the womb of the Mother and when entering you must say "All my relatives enter with me. This means our animal brothers and sisters, our ancestors, ALL_ OF_ LIFE". There were no wasted words in this book. Everything has a meaning. Overall Life is a Circle. Ruby Standing Deer is such a phenominal author.
Karen Rose Richter did the most amazing job with this book. She has such a diverse voice. She nailed every character's stance and voice. Feather's voice was perfect. Impressive! This is the second time I've had the pleasure of listening to her work.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

I really enjoyed this story. It had a wonderful message. Life is short and the road is curvy. Although her aunt never married, she had loved and turned her back on love and tells Danielle to 'Always Follow Your Heart'. She also found Aunt May's diary and discovered all the sacrifices she had made for her family. This is a book I'd recommend listening to or reading.
I thought the narrator Denise Krueger did a fantastic job. I loved her dialect.
