Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next. Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him.

From other reviewers we are to conclude that this is the last book in a trilogy. Although there was a conclusion with the pathfinder, I don't believe this will be the end. There is so many different paths the story can go to, that hopefully this isn't the end of the Grimnoir Society. But if Larry Correia decides not to write anymore with this series, this book is a great ending. As usual the characters are great and there is lots of kick buttery, twist of history and darn right fun. I am defiantly a fan of Larry and will continue to read all his writings. Other humorous authors are Jim Bernheimer, Christopher Moore, and David Rosenfelt.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her "glamour" to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story - a story that has never been told - until now. Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death.

Levana was always a psychopath/narcissists even as a teenager. She only gets crazier and more destructive the older she gets. This book is like a train wreck, you can't help but look to see what else Levana will do. Her sister Chandler is just as bad, are the parents to blame or were they just bad seeds to begin with. Marissa Meyer really keeps to the details and this book does give us an insight to what a horrible person Levana is. I really feel for Evert. I didn't read the three chapters for Winter only because I hate reading the beginning of a story and not be able to finish it. I will wait until it comes out in November, which makes this book only 5 hrs and 32 mins. This series is an amazing version of fractured fairytales, I love them. This book only wets the appetite for the next book. Series should be read in order. Narrator does an excellent job.

In this seductive follow-up to Poison Princess, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole takes us deeper into the dark world of the Arcana Chronicles. With threats lurking around every corner, Evie is forced to trust her newfound alliance. Together they must fight not only other Arcana, but also Bagmen zombies, post-apocalyptic storms, and cannibals

This book starts right were the last book left off. I was so engrossed in the story I forgot to take my breaks at work, just continued to work and listen. In this book we get to find out more about Arik/Death and we discover there is so much more of him to like. Usually I'm not a fan of triangles but I like both of this men soooo much, I will take a sandwich please. So hard to pick which one I like better Jack or Arik. The world that Kresley Cole has created is amazing and so vivid to me, I want this to become a TV series. The use of Tarot cards are ingenious. I finally found another series that I'm super excited about, my only regret is that there is only three books out and that Kresley Cole doesn't write faster. Narrator does an excellent job and I am glad that only one was used in this book.

She could save the world - or destroy it. Sixteen-year-old Evangeline 'Evie' Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future - and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. But she can't do either alone.

    Story

Let me just start off with how much I loved the IAD series and decided that since I don't mind YA genre I would give this book a try. It had me engrossed from the start. Kresley Cole can write and spin a story that has so much happening, I was amazed. I love the spin on the Tarot Cards, this is a new concept for me how it is woven into the story. Of course I had to cut and paste a copy of the Arcana Tarot cards that I found on the internet to my desk so I could cross reference them when the Arcana card characters were in play. Don't be fooled and only think that YA can read this book, adults can enjoy it too. While this book is clean of sex, there are some close calls and some mention of Slavers and what they do to girls. I will defiantly be getting the next book in the series soon. Narrators both do a good job, but I am not a fan of duel narration and I wish that only Emma Gavin had been reading. If you are a fan of books such as The Hunger Games, The Road, or the TV series Carnivale, this may be a book for you, but in no way are the stories similar only parts that reminded me of these stories.

A typical Sandra Brown book, this mystery/romance was fairly good. If you’re a fan of SB you will like this book. My only complaint is that there is too much flashbacks in the story, which isn't my favorite style of writing. I would rather the character tell what happened than rehash it in flashbacks. Because of this I would give this book a 3.5 stars. There was not enough face time for the heroine and the hero, the back story was overwhelming for this book to really be enjoyable. The story does get better the second half of the book. My favorite book by Sandra Brown is "Envy." It was the first Sandra Brown book I read and I really enjoyed it. Narrator does a good job.

The final book to the Hunger Games, I actually read this a while ago, just decided to listen to this series again. This is not my favorite book in the series, but at least it didn't bomb like the third book in the Divergent series. Katniss has a lot of PTSD in this book and while a bit annoying, it is good to see that real problems happen to Katniss. This one has some good parts to it, I really liked the Hanging Tree song (which Jennifer Lawrence butchered in the movie.) There is a version on You Tube that is really good. Unfortunately this book is a bit confusing when Katniss finally makes it to the Capital. This is a much darker book than the first two books. There are no fireworks at the end to celebrate their victory, there is too much loss and destruction for that. Only survival and endurance. I liked the narrator for this book.

If you have ever read an Amanda Quick book you know what you are getting into. She does romance, mystery, and quirky characters all in a regency setting. I actually prefer her older books over the newer books she has written. I did notice that there were pauses in between the chapters long enough I kept thinking my player shut itself off. Narrator does a good job, especially portraying individual characters. My only complaint is she sounds old when she reads the regular parts.

3.5 stars overall. A fairly enjoyable book, I suspect as a girl I would have loved it. I picked this book up because I have enjoyed both the Dead Eye and the Supervillian Series by Jim Bernheimer, plus I like to read a good fantasy every once in a while. This book is from both Kayleigh's and Majherri's point of view. Majherri is one stubborn unicorn. Kayleigh is selected as a rider and then she goes through basic training with her unicorn. Since her unicorn has already been through this before, he gets up to trouble. I liked the characters but just barely, and I did see a lot of ideas that were in this book that have been done before. Which made me doubt if I would read the next book. Fortunately the last couple of hours in this book was full of action and magic, it started to get good and I will probably read the next book. Of course this book leaves you hanging, just like the end of TV season, trying to temp you to come back. Narrator is okay, she did have a bit of a monotone voice and a couple of character voices that were too screechy or just too high pitched.

Another really good addition to the Edge series. Right off the bat I liked Audrey. She the type of character that has spunk and a great sense of humor, despite her having a horrible family and using her so much. I think that is one of the things I like most about Ilona Andrews is that there female heroines are all kick butt, smart ass gals, while still having some sensibility. They are women I really could like. Kalder was also fun, loyal and won't let anybody harm his family and get away with it. Super glad that Jack and George came back in the story, those are two characters that I would like to see more about. Plenty of action, fantasy, romance and humor to make this a nice rounded book. Narrator does a really good job as usual.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I will admit it isn't one of my favorites, but I will be continuing on with the next book. This is one of the better vampire series that I have read in a long time. The main characters defiantly have a good vibe going with each other. Cat was a bit immature, but you can see that she grows as the book goes on, and I like her even with her flaws. Bones is super sweet, but luckily has a filthy mouth to add humor to the story. Bones has a different sounding accent, he is British but more of a down by the docks low bred sound. Many reviewers have complained about it but I kind of liked it, although it took me a few to get used to it. I would classify this book more of a Sookie (fan of) type book versus Twilight (not a fan.) Narrator does an excellent job.

While the story isn't bad and the characters being engaging it is only part of a book. This is one of those books that is only a part of a story and you have to purchase the rest to find out anything. I do like books that are a series but not at the expense of the story and you have to buy the next to complete a plot line. At which case the story lost a star for incompleteness. As a good clean steampunk story, this book would be it. It is geared more towards YA, so no sex (not really even a romance) and no bad language. I might be tempted to purchase the next in the series if there is a sale but I would not pay full price for part of a book. Narrator does an excellent job and is very clear and understandable.
