Rob is totally into telling great stories, complete with voices and sound effects that will make you laugh, cry and feel completely alive.
Rob's first book was simply amazing! I would highly recommend reading (or listening to) that one. too. Perhaps, his first book was one of the best autobiographical accounts ever by anyone. This is equally entertaining, emotional and touching with all new stories.
He's authentic - a rare commodity in Hollywood these days.
Suspend your judgement of who or what Abraham is and soak up the message. If you simply listen and allow the teachings to reach your mind, you'll receive the real Secret. One of the best explanations of the Power of Attraction and more.
This should have offered more realistic relationship advise and featured less twisted stories that most listeners could never ever relate to, even if they tried.
Many other books in this genre offer much better advise than this book. Going way back to author Barbara DeAngelis, or more recently Gary Chapman's books, both of those authors and others have more realistic stories and much more relatable problems.
Joyce Bean's performance was annoying. I have never heard a female narrator pretending to sound like a man when she read letters written by a male. Why bother? It's so disconcerting. Just read the stories! Deepak Chopra was fine. He was the expected Deepak. However, whoever produced this book and built the letters, the questions and the answers missed the mark entirely. This is a very depressing review of life at it's worst, making the reader or listener trudge through the mud and the muck. And, what have we achieved in the end? If anybody actually feels better after hearing, I would be amazed. If you have these kinds of serious problems, you need to see your own selected licensed therapist instead of seeking quick answers from an audiobook. Very, very disappointed in what I heard and I felt totally deceived by the way this book was marketed toward us.
Huge disappointment. A total waste of time and money.
In the future, I would hope to see more thoughtful choices before promoting something as a special purchase.
Great stories, excellent narration and thought provoking ideas and suggestions.
Multiple stories were of great interest and worth sharing with others.
First time listening to anything by Mark. Very good!
Yes. At no point in the recording did either the story or narrator lose my full interest.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject of prayer, faith or one's purpose in life. Very inspiring work.
Lacks any substance or helpful tips. Likewise, no memorable stories - just contained rambling random thoughts.
Michael's voice was not the problem. He's a fine narrator. The content lacked any useful information.
If this is a person's only exposure to Michael's work, it's doubtful they will ever sample anything again. That's a shame, because he is better than this work. I should have known better when he began the book by apologizing, saying that it contained no helpful tips, step-by-step guides or any plan of action. This book was nothing but pure "stream of consciousness" that lacks substance and generally leaves everyone but the author totally unsatisfied. So very disappointed with this purchase.
If you've read any books on Goals, Affirmations or the Law of Attraction they will probably be as good as this. This is full of old stories, rehashed sections from previous writers and plenty of old ideas.
I've often heard the phrase, "boring as watching paint dry" and never really understood the meaning until now. What a tedious, common sense, redundant list of things to do and what not to do. He often uses a phrase - like with like. That pretty much says it all. Let me sum it up for you. Don't put your sweaters in the same drawer and your swim trunks. Who would enjoy this book? Obviously, the answer is Andrew's close friends and relatives. Certainly, those must be the only ones who gave it four stars. I wish I had those eight and a half hours of listening time back.
Share some new ideas with us. This is all normal, common everyday stuff, unless you're a helpless hoarder. In that case, you probably have no spare money to buy the book and no space to sit down and read it or listen.
Not so dry and uninteresting. His stories relate to his experiences and his so-called clients. But, each piece of advise is so obvious and common place. I kept thinking that it simply had to get better, eventually. I was wrong. Same ideas, different room of the house. A perfect example of someone taking normal and trying to make something special out of it.
One of the most interesting and comprehensive memoirs that I've come across in my many readings.
Quite a behind-the-scenes look at the Rhoda era and the many successes beyond her initial hit show.
Wonderful, warm and genuine performance.
My Friend, Rhoda
The latest medical news surrounding Valarie Harper broke just as I was finishing this audiobook. As I listened, enjoying every moment, I was amazed by the depth of her career and her love and affection for many friends and family. Her show "Rhoda" was a TV sensation, but she has done so much more since then, including a life filled with passion and care for those less fortunate. The depth of her sharing goes way beyond most bios. Her anecdotes made me laugh and her honesty and emotional stories renewed my love for the woman we knew as Rhoda. Bless you Valarie!
I'm certain that Howard's wisdom was passed along to many of his students. However, this biographical story lacks any real depth or significant ideas. I just kept waiting, expecting a gem or two of real wisdom. Just not there. Very disappointed in the purchase.
Less affectation with his voice.
It just passed some time while I was on the road, but I was very disappointed that it lacked any depth or interesting concepts and ideas.
As for Howard's Wisdom, I guess you had to be there in person to see the magnificence.
They really threw me a curve with this one. Not at all what I expected. It was more of a book about the brain. I thought I was listening to a required lecture in Medical School. While there were a few interesting facts, overall it was boring and tedious.
Much too medical and biological in nature.
Saved the listen.
Character? There was a character?
Take a cue from author Malcolm Gladwell. This type of subject could have been presented in a much more powerful and entertaining manner.
