It was stolen from a New Orleans grave - the centuries-old bust of an evil man, a demonic man. It’s an object desired by collectors - and by those with wickedness in their hearts. One day, its current owner shows up at Danni Cafferty’s antiques shop on Royal Street, the shop she inherited from her father. But before Danni can buy the statue, it disappears, the owner is found dead…and Danni discovers that she’s inherited much more than she realized. In the store is a book filled with secret writing: instructions for defeating evil entities.

Our favorite white trash zombie, Angel Crawford, has enough problems of her own, what with dealing with her alcoholic, deadbeat dad, issues with her not-quite boyfriend, the zombie mafia, industrial espionage, and evil corporations. Oh, and it’s raining, and won’t let up. But things get even crazier when a zombie movie starts filming in town, and Angel begins to suspect that it’s not just the plot of the movie that's rotten. Soon she's fighting her way through mud, blood, bullets, and intrigue, even as zombies, both real and fake, prowl the streets.

What didn’t you like about Allison McLemore’s performance?

I can't do anything but listen to someone who desperately needs to blow her nose. I can't believe I paid for this.

I like all the books, but I am SO distracted, I can't get through it. EWWW. I can't believe this got through editing.

I love this book! I love that it's from the man's POV, I love the voice of the narrator. I love how he changes throughout the book. Along with a VERY likable and strong love interest. Great read! Worth the credit!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    Nothing

Has Strangers turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. Strangers had great sex, but the abuse factor REALLY should have been revealed beforehand. What was reported by other reviewers as funny was sweet, but not hilarious at all. Then the woman who had been abused all her life, was abused again by the "hero." Aaaaand of course she forgave him every time he hurt her. Not funny. Not a good love story. And now that I think about it, the rape scene was NOT great sex, either. Neither was the statutory rape that was swept under the rug. This woman needs medication and a therapist, not another abuser. Who cares if he's rich and famous and handsome?

Anyone who has had abuse in their life- skip this one.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointed. How could this be a beloved book??? The little bit of happiness at the end was too suspect and not funny at all.

    Any additional comments?

Beware this book if you've had any kind of trauma in your life.
