This was a different side of Lord John we do not see in the Outlanders stories. It was a good back ground book with a good puzzle to solve.

Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Twenty years after her strange journey back in time, Claire has returned to Scotland with her daughter, determined to share with her the secret she has harbored since her time travel.

This was a great work! It has a lot of history and information in it and I really liked that. I have been to Europe and really enjoyed her telling me what Paris was like way back when and how she wrapped her story around history is amazing. It makes you wonder about all the lose ends she leaves, how is she going to wrap it into the next book, because you know Diana will! Love Clair and Jamie and their story!

Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first. Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind.

This is a long listen but keeps you coming back with so many twist and turns. I really like how it sounds when she is reading, you can just picture what is happening. One thing I noticed, Clair comes across as greedy and only looking after her sometimes. But I think we are all that way when we really want something. Jamie sure has had a strange life without Clair but once they are back together it is crazy wild.

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
