I am trying to love this series. The first book was just ok for me. Not SD's usual style. There were an enormous amount of Biblical references. Some I got some I did not. Evangeline Hollis was a good character but I needed more romance. I like the tension between Cain and Able over Evangeline but there needed to be more. There are also so many different references to species and life forms that it was a bit hard to follow. Even saying this I still enjoyed the book and I am intrigued enough to get the next one just to see if the romance part picks up. Jill Redfield is one of my favourite narrators and she does not disappoint. She does a great job on all the voices and in making you captivated by the story. I would say that if you like paranormal books and suspense, then this is for you. If you are thinking there is going to be a lot of romance and sex, then look elsewhere. Overall it is between a 3.5 to 4 stars from me. You are either going to love it or hate it. I am sitting on the fence.
I thought the first book wasn't great. Unfortunately I had bought all three books in a sale so I was stuck with them. I decided to give the second book a chance thinking it it had to get better from here. The first book was just boring nothing exciting happened. The second book was no improvement. The narration was horrible at best. You still can't distinguish Sophie's voice from Colton's voice. I would suggest getting the series a pass.
As I was reading this, I could not get past the feeling that I had read this before. This book starts off like CL Parker's "A Million Dirty Secrets: Million Dollar Duet". However, I thouht Parker's book better. Also the narrator, Ava Erickson, can't narrate a male voice. At times I could not tell who was talking. Sophie or Colton. There are no real twist or turns. I do not love this book. The basis of the story is being desperate for money and auctioning herself off. Nothing new or creative about it. For me it is just average. I had gone ahead and bought the other two books so I will press on.
This is a book based on having to make a decision between loyalty to your word or loyalty to love. Saint is a sexy man who has never had loyalty from his family. He is seen as an object to be used by everyone. Rachel is young and trying to make a name for herself. She is given a job and now has to chose love or her job. This story is very enjoyable. My only complaint is the cliff hanger. Now I have to wait and no one likes that. 😞
This series is just too funny. I love the fact that all the women are sarcastic and strong-willed. They tend to get into a lot of trouble but boy is it funny. You will not be disappointed in any of the books in the series. I do however suggest that you read them in order. Eva and Luke story is just as good as the first book I read. Although there are some similarities between all the books and you kind of know what's expected to come. It still keeps you laughing and wanting more. The narrator does such a great job of bringing the characters to life. This is a must read series.
I want more. I wish it was longer. I don't know why she stopped so soon. I hope she writes another book but longer.
I read this book when it first came out. And I really enjoyed it. I do not feel that the audio version does the book justice. I think you miss out on the emails that go back-and-forth between Anastasia and Christian. I don't think they needed to say the date and time for every email as it was distracting. I have to say it is better than the movie. The movie was awful. I wanted to see if the audio version would bring the characters to life but I was disappointed.I think that they should've chose a different narrator. In my head Christian's voice was much deeper and masculine. I struggled to get a pass that at the beginning. She did okay with Anastasia's voice though. I just know that some books, the audio versions are fantastic.
Can't seem to get in the series. Jules and Vance are great together. I love the comradery between all the characters. Jules' internal thoughts are hilarious and will keep you laughing throughout the whole book. Vance is sexy and I love when he tells Jules to "be still". I have to say this series is on my top 10 list. The narration is great and brings the characters to life.
I can't get enough of this series. Olivia cCunning knows how to write these books that keep you on you wanting more. My only complaint is that she doesn't write them fast enough. The characters captivate you from the get-go and you can't seem to get enough of them. I can't wait to find out more about Nikki and Owen and Lindsey. You won't be disappointed with this installment. Justine is an amazing narrator. She brings the characters to life with her voice.
I'm really enjoying this series. There are lots of twists and turns and all the books. The narration is spot on. Katy Evans has a unique way of writing that just keeps you wanting more. Although I can say that rogue and ripped were great they still will not beat out Remy's story. I love that you still have Pandora Melanie and Brooke altogether and you get their smart mouthed little comments and big attitudes. This book however did not incorporate anything about fighting or the fight scene which is a little disappointing because I'd like that. It did however bring in the sexy rocker.
This is one of favorite series. Tavia Gilbert is awesome. She brings all the characters to life. I can't wait for more. You definitely need to read her books in sequence in order to get the most out of them. There is love, deceit, revenge, twits and turns. You will not be bored.
