This series just might rank high up there among my favorites.
It kept me interested the whole time. Some authors can become too descriptive and drag out some scenes. This book flowed nicely.
My favorite character? Hmmm... It's a toss up between Adam and Simon. The narrator did a good job most of the time with the different voices. Her voice wavered in pitch a few times & she has a tendency to whisper scream when someone is suppose to be yelling. Otherwise, the narration was good.
I never really cried, but I did laugh several times.
It does remind me of a previous book I've read... Except I can't put my finger on which book it was.
I've listened to Elizabeth's narrations before and this one was just as good. I really like her for the female POV in this series. I don't think I've listened to Deacon Lee before. I personally prefer Sebastian York's voice for the male point of view for this series. Don't get me wrong, Deacon Lee ultimately did a good job narrating the male POV. I just think I may have gotten use to Sebastian York's voice from the previous book.
I don't know about an extreme reaction, but I really liked this book. I wish the characters from the previous books had more of a role, but I loved the new characters created in this book too.
Some previous reviews say they didn't like Reese, but I liked her. I think she was a perfect addition to the series.
I'm not going to go into details of what the book is about since the summary gave a decent book description. I've listened to this book and the second one in the series. I can't wait for the third book. The narrator did a good job for the most part. The male voices could be better at times, but they could also be a lot worse. There was a good balance of action, humor and romance. I would definitely recommend this book.
I really liked this book. It had some action, shifter romance, and humor. The heroine is a bit neurotic at times, which made me laugh a lot! Her reaction to spiders remind me of my childhood friend. The narrator was good for the most part. The male voices could be better at times, but they could also be a lot worse. The first book was great as well. I recommend reading that one as well if you haven't already.
I admit I was only able to make it to chapter 9. A lot of reviews stated this is not a silly western romance, but to me it is. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this kind of book the day I played it... I'll try to go back another day and re-listen to it. If my outlook changes I'll update my review.
Some narrators can make or break a book (or atleast make you wish you ordered the kindle version instead). He did a great job with the different voices. I would definately listen to more books by him. In fact, I did purchase more books that he narrated.
This book had me laughing out loud a lot! The author did a great job from start to finish.
I typically prefer male narrators since many female ones make the males sound feminine or overdone. She does a good job with the voices and it's easy to distinguish between characters.
This book has a different take on vampires and their society. At first I wasn't sure I would like it, but then the more I listened the more I got into the book. The book does end with a cliffhanger and I would definitely listen/read the next in the series.
Yes, it was an entertaining read.
I'm waiting to read/listen to the rest of the series. I liked the characters. Some of the rape scenes were a bit too graphic, but otherwise it was a good read. I would recommend this book.
It kept my attention. I would listen to others in the series if the narrator does better on the female voice(s).
She did a decent job differentiating all the characters, however she made the heroine sound way too winey.
She does a great narration.
This is a sequel to the last victim. You will want to read that first. You have to have an open mind to reading about ghosts & people being wrongfully convicted of a crime in order to enjoy both books. SPOILER: The 1st book got a lot of bad reviews because the love interest was the ghost of a convicted serial killer who claimed innocence. This book showed some proof of Michael's innocence... hopefully the next book will exonerate him.
