Yes, it was well read, interesting and I learned a lot from this book.
His voice is very pleasing.
I will probably listen to this book over and over again!
I am enjoying these stories in spite of the narrator. She tends phrase her character in a way that makes me sometimes question the characters, and her voice is anything but easy listening.
The author has spun quite the captivating tell, but it seems each sentence is ended with the same repeated adjective, with dubious being the chosen favorite. I found this distracting, and even began keeping a count of how many times the word was used. Overall, the story is very good and I will continue the series.
I did not realize how dysfuntional Janis Ian was\is. It left me with less admiration for her. I thought her sexual life was too overdone, and I am no prude. It makes one wonder who someone with such intelligence and talent could make such bad choices over and over again! Just a disapointing story. I found it hard to have smypathy for her when it seemed obvious she made her choices with eyes wide open.
Too much dysfunctional garbage.
The constant minage a trios! Way way too much! Just more than I needed to know!
Sadly, I really would not recommend this book
Absoluteley! it starts slow, but as the story unfolds, you will not be able to put this one down.
Very well researched, great ending! Much different than I thought it would be. A lot of history, and it leaves you thinking, "what would I do?"
This book is not a waste of credits. Very gripping, an eye opener! A definite must!
This spell binding book is a follow up to McCammon's "Speaks the Nighbird". This author is absolutely amazing! The book starts just a slight bit slower than the first book, but quickly catches up and ends stronger than the first. This book is very hard to put done as it becomes very intense! A GREAT listen! These two books are absolutely not a waste of credits! I am waiting for the next book!
Ballerini's performance is awesome. He is able to give each character a different voice, making the book seem to be read by many narrators. His brilliant performance truly brings these books alive! I will definetly listen to more of his work. His accents bring this book to life! WOW!
Although I knew the outcome of this book, we listened, clinging to every word as if the outcome were a mystery! I did learn many things that I did not know. Good book!
He seems to emphasize the high points bringing drama and suspense at just the right moments.
Good book! I will listen to all of Bill O'Reilly's books based on how good this book was!
This is not the type of book that I normally read, but after so many good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I choose this book! It will grab you from the very beginning, and you will cling to every word! I could not stop listening to this book! I strongly recommend this book. You will not be sorry, or feel like you have lost a credit!
The book had so many twist and trurns, it was hard to pick just one moment!
EVERYTHING! Perfect for this book, and it seemed as if there were a whole cast of characters! I will definetly listen to more of his performances!
The film that will be talked about for the rest of the year!
What a great book! I really enjoyed this listen! I have choosen two more of his books, based on how great this book was!
I did not read the print version, however, I loved the audio version. Although I knew what was going to happen, this story is written in such a suspenseful way that I often felt on the edge of my seat! The history is accurate, it is very well told and Bill O'Reilly was the perfect person to read this story, although sometimes I felt he might be reading just a little to fast.
The build up just before the assassination. This story really is great from beginning to end.
Now I can't wait to read the book about the assassination of JFK! I highly recommend this listen. I will be listening to more of O'Reilly's books!
The human factor of this story is what made it such an intersting read. The author was truthful in sharing his life and his NDE, with the reader.
The authors truthfulness in his drinking, his heartbreak in feeling rejection from his biological family.
The description of his NDE. Very interesting.
The author reads this story, and it truely adds demention and depth. You are able to hear the pain and hurt as he almost cries during one part of the story. His voice was very pleasent and his reading add a lot to this book.
California Gold Rush
THe narrator in this book absolutely ruined the whole story for me, and when she tried to lower her voice to sound like a man, it made the whole story seem RIDICULOUS!!! What a waste of time and money!
