What did you love best about Executive Seduction?

Jennifer Probst is well known for her stories of a girl needing money, finding a rich sexy guy and falling in love with him, not his money. I give her credit for her ability to show the true feelings of love. But where this books fails is that it's a republish with tiny updates of a story she wrote years ago only she forgot to update a few parts of the book so it mixes parts of the story up - from million dollar deal to a billion dollar deal. If she was going to do an update she should have had better editing to make sure she didn't miss anything.

Still it was an enjoyable story, minus the narration.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anne Johnstonbrown?

Oh wow I hate to be mean but this book was pretty much ruined by the narration. I'm just floored it got approved. The problem is two fold. First she sounds far older than the main female character should be, the narrator sounds like she may be in her late 50s or 60s but even worse is the way she over-pronoucnes words and puts extra emphasis on every T. Do you realize how many times a word has a T sounding in it, in any given book?

It's bad. Really really bad and time and again you find yourself cringing listening to the narrator speak.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The story was good, not the best ever considering it was written like 10 or 15 years ago and only parts of it were updated but yeah, I would say it was a story I was interested in finding out how it ended.

    Any additional comments?

This is a comment not only for this author but all of them ... listen to your book. Really listen and if the narrator is horrible, have some backbone already and be honest. Get a new one. This book was completely ruined by bad narration.

New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent continues her Shopping for a Billionaire series as mystery shopper Shannon and (near) billionaire Declan explore a relationship (and each other). The pair deal with a jealous ex-boyfriend, a new perk at work that makes Shannon rethink her job, and a cat that offers up quite a present when Declan takes Shannon out for their first non-business date.

Don't waste your time or credit with this joke of a book. It's no more than what a normal author would include in a chapter or two in a real book. Instead this author breaks up a single story into three short stories.

Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. The story isn't as much about a single person falling in love as it is about an entire town and all the little twists and turns that happen in their lives.

I'm not quite sure why someone classified this book in the romance genre but whoever did it, couldn't have been more wrong. This wanderer guy the title hints that the story about is in maybe 1 hour of the 8 hour story. Yes he falls in love, but considering that's only a tiny part of the whole story, it make no sense why they even called the book that.

    Story

Right from the start this book rubbed me the wrong way. It went on and on about her "trailer trash" upbringing. It got down right offensive. Oh the horror of having to grow up with fake wood paneling.

But even if you could overlook that, you are still left with the over the top "man eater" type character who prefers one night stands to chocolate cake.

I tried really hard to listen. Normally I love Jill Shalvis books, especially the Lucky Harbor series but this one is so over the top it made my stomach turn. By chapter 3 I realized that my time is far to valuable and I like myself to much to continue to put myself through listening to one more minute of this offensive crap. And really I know that sounds harsh but it really was crap.

Veterinary intern Emily can't believe she wound up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho, instead of in a Los Angeles clinic like she had always imagined. Now she has to put her plans to move to L.A. on hold for a whole year while she fulfills the obligation of her vet school scholarship. Then Wyatt, her gorgeous one-night stand from a Reno vet conference, introduces himself as her new boss. And Emily is just as drawn to his seductive looks and quiet strength as she was on that very steamy night.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Jill Shalvis really shined in this one. Usually as a series goes along things start to go downhill but I really think this is the exception to the rule. Great story. Really well done.

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

As always she was great. Flawless performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's hard to say without giving away important parts of the book and nobody likes spoilers but I will say yes, I was surprised when she left. I expected her to stay.

Playing house was never so much fun - or so confusing. With her boss on an extended honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy-long hours to keep the interior design company running - especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel. And with Simon, her hotshot photographer boyfriend, gallivanting all over the world for his job, the couple is heavy-duty into "absence makes the heart grow fonder" mode. No complaints about the great reunion sex, though!

    Story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The book started off as a confusing mess. You couldn't help but get the sense that the publisher demanded a sequel and the author went through several periods of not knowing what to say to continue the first story along and in the end, you got a horrible start.

Things did eventually get better but half-way through you couldn't help but feel sorry for the person and their horrible relationship. The saddest part was, she didn't seem to know her relationship was built totally around sex. He didn't seem to care about her needs, her problems or sharing any part of his life and even if she worked a 100 hours that week, hey as long as he got him some, who cares, right?

What was most disappointing about Alice Clayton’s story?

The most disappointing part is really that the author didn't seem to get how completely unhealthy this relationship really is. This isn't love. This isn't romantic. This is just sad. Sex does not a relationship make. Even if it's great sex. And just because you have sex 5 times a week, doesn't make it great sex. If you worked so much that week your eyes are about to bleed, going home to have to make your man happy by giving him a bj isn't right. That's not romantic. That's just serving your man to make HIM happy. I don't know. This whole story just rubbed me the wrong way.

Was Rusty Nailed worth the listening time?

Eh. Not really. I mean if you can get the book at a great discount, sure. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't suggest paying full price for this one.

Would you try another book from Susan Hatler and/or Martha Lee?

Yes, but next time I might look at the length beforehand. There is a difference between a well written short story, and a story cut short. This was most definitely the latter.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Uhh that's it? Where's the rest of the story? This was ore like the start of a good book that cut off a few chapters in.

Did My Last Blind Date inspire you to do anything?

It made me wonder how in the world this book got published. Not that it wasn't a great start but it was far from a full story. It left you sitting there confused how it could end so quick. It was more like a preview of an upcoming full novel.

Yes. She wasn't bad at all.

Bored. I hate to be so mean but to be honest the story just bored me to death. It just didn't have that heated passion or any OMG moments that tend to make you fall in love with a good romance book.

Absolutely. I couldn't in a million years turn it off. I had to rush to the end.

    Any additional comments?

This is a series you will want to read. If you liked Twilight or the Hunger Games then The Selection series is a must read. The One, the last book in the series really wraps it up well.
