Will Lafferty and Kenny Scalia are both having sort of a day. Will gets fired for letting fifth graders read Harry Potter, and Kenny finds his boyfriend and his sex toys in bed with a complete stranger. When Will knocks over Kenny's trash can-and strews Kenny's personal business all over the street-it feels like the perfect craptastic climax to the sewage of suckage that has rained down on them both.

No, Connor has everything worked out - a career in law enforcement, a nice house, and a family. When he wakes up in the hospital, Shiloh meets Travis Kahn, the EMT who saved him and didn’t leave his side. The medications that Victor usually takes to control his abilities are threatening to destroy his liver, and his new meds aren't any more effective than sugar pills. Vic is also adjusting to a new PsyCop partner, a mild-mannered guy named Roger with all the personality of white bread. At least he's willing to spring for the Starbucks.

How long did it take you to find your place in the world? For Ethan Walker, going through the motions of life, keeping his distance, and never getting attached has become the mantra he lives by. Success is measured by how many hours he can work and how little attention he can draw - that was, until he landed on Beau Bennett's radar. Until Beau, Ethan had never met a man who could get him to question his own logic and even consider taking a different path.

The story! This is one of my favorite books of the series.

What did you like best about this story?

    The story!

What three words best describe the narrators’s performance?

Weird, the narrators switched around within a character. So two different voices or maybe three with one character I think! It was weird. If there was going to be several voices, they each should stick with one...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    no

    Any additional comments?

Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones has a reputation for being calm and collected under fire. These traits serve him well with his hotshot partner, Ian Doyle, the kind of guy who can start a fight in an empty room. In the past three years of their life-and-death job, they've gone from strangers to professional coworkers to devoted teammates and best friends. Miro’s cultivated blind faith in the man who has his back… faith and something more.
