  • Code Zero: Joe Ledger, Book 6

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 3 mins)
    • By Jonathan Maberry
    • Narrated By Ray Porter
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

For years the Department of Military Sciences has fought to stop terrorists from using radical bioweapons - designer plagues, weaponized pathogens, genetically modified viruses, and even the zombie plague that first brought Ledger into the DMS. These terrible weapons have been locked away in the world’s most secure facility. Until now. Joe Ledger and Echo Team are scrambled when a highly elite team of killers breaks the unbreakable security and steals the world’s most dangerous weapons.

Mike Naka says: "code zero! need i say more?"
"My favorite series ever, and this is no exception!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Code Zero to be better than the print version?

Listening to a Joe Ledger book is like eating my grandma's wild blackberry pie -- nothing brings me more enjoyment. It's even a comfort to me, like visiting an old friend who never disappoints. This latest book in the series is no disappointment, and an extremely enjoyable listen!

What other book might you compare Code Zero to and why?

Patient Zero - because it's the sequel!

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ray Porter IS JOE LEDGER. His voice inflections bring such life to the characters. He is my all-time favorite narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and in fact I did! First time I've ever done this.

    Any additional comments?

Do yourself a favor and get this book. It was fun fun fun from beginning to end.

  • The Egg

    • UNABRIDGED (8 mins)
    • By Andy Weir
    • Narrated By R.C. Bray

You were on your way home when you died.It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.And that’s when you met me." A short story about the universe.

Casey Ferrell says: "best 8min book I've listened to"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It appears that I am a lone voice here. I LOVED The Martian -- it is my all time favorite audio book. However, The Egg was just plain dumb, and I have no idea why so many people loved it. Luckily, it was only 8 minutes of my life down the drain.

Would you ever listen to anything by Andy Weir again?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

  • Open: An Autobiography

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 4 mins)
    • By Andre Agassi
    • Narrated By Erik Davies
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

From Andre Agassi, one of the most beloved athletes in history and one of the most gifted men ever to step onto a tennis court, a beautiful, haunting autobiography. Agassi brings a near-photographic memory to every pivotal match and every relationship. Never before has the inner game of tennis and the outer game of fame been so precisely limned.

Patrick says: "Just an Incredible Story!"
"Favorite nonfiction audio book of all time"
If you could sum up Open in three words, what would they be?

Have not enjoyed a nonfiction audiobook as much as I enjoyed this, ever. Entertaining and uplifting!

  • I Am Legend

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Richard Matheson
    • Narrated By Robertson Dean
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In I Am Legend, a plague has decimated the world, and those unfortunate enough to survive are transformed into blood-thirsty creatures of the night. Robert Neville is the last living man on earth. Everyone else has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood. By day, he stalks the sleeping undead, by night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn.

    Amazon Customer says: "Superb!"

Wow, wow, wow. I loved the book and I loved the narrarator. I've read some reviews that complain about the narrarator and so I was hesitant to purchase the book for that reason alone. I think the narrarator can make or break or story for me. However, I thought Robertson Dean did the job perfectly. I was completed mesmerized by the story. Although I truly enjoyed the movie, the back was far more haunting and I think the author did an excellent job portraying the loneliness this man suffered as well as all the psychological problems that come from being entirely alone and fighting for your life for 3 years.
