I simply can not get enough of the characters in this series. I wish it were a soap opera that I could watch everyday! Mma Makutsi gets funnier with each book. Mma Ramotswe is my age but she seems so much wiser! These books are so enjoyable. I was listening today at Walmart and laughing out loud. Again, the mysteries keep you guessing. Ms. Lecat is amazing. Thank you, thank you Mma for your wonderful narration. I especially love the way you do Puso. If you have listened to all of the books up to this point, you will not be disappointed.
I just finished listening to this wonderful, wonderful audio book. I listened to it practically nonstop. In this original and intricate story, the narrator brilliantly changes from character to character. I fell in love with most of them. It had me giving serious thought to what I would do in some of the situations, situations you won't see coming in the book. It's nice not being able to guess what's going to happen. The characters are rich and I could relate from the oldest to the youngest, male and female. I love when I choose a book and it blows away my expectations. I was laughing out loud, wiping tears, my heart full at one minute, and breaking the next and this was all throughout the book! This was the first book I listened to by Liane Moriarty and I have a new favorite author (and narrator). I'm using my next credit on her!
This is my favorite book of the series so far. Mr. Smith really let his humor shine throughout the book especially with Mma Makutsi. The mysteries in the book were enthralling as always. There always seems to be a twist I never see coming. I fell in love with the series from the first book. Lisette Lecat (narrator) is amazing. Between her and Mr. Smith, I feel as if I'm there in Gabarone with the characters. They are such wonderful people. I've even fallen in love with their names, repeating them over and over sometimes. I would love to know all of them even the two apprentices! I'm purchasing the next book today. I have already listened to one of them twice :). Keep up the good work Mr. Smith and Ms. Lecat. You have a fan for life.
Of course I had heard of Charles Manson, but I didn't know all the details. The narrator brought the characters alive. It was hard to stop listening to this one.
Definitely! It is such a captivating story and Scott Brick does great voices even for the women. There was not one dull moment in this book. Great work Mr. Bugliosi and thank you for writing it. I'm a strong believer in knowing our history because it can and will repeat itself.
This is a very interesting book with a unique story. My sister recommended it, said she couldn't put it down. Unfortunately, the narrator ruined it for me. I just did not like her voice. I'm reading the second book now, not listening. I'm enjoying it much more.
It's unfortunate when a narrator isn't to your liking. It's best to listen to the sample before you purchase even thought sometimes they are too short to really know.
