So glad they finally came out with the unabridged version. I refused to listen to the other one. Well done.
The book developed well but took a really long time. Didn't love the reader. Hoping the next one is better.
Didn't like the reader at all. Story was a bit pointless. Did enjoy the format where things aren't told chronologically. It's a very effective technique. But overall I wouldn't recommend the book.
This is a fascinating story. That being said, it was very hard to understand. I loved getting a glimpse into the authors experiences and understandings of North Korea and his afterward was very important to my understanding. Still, most of this I didn't enjoy very much.
Can't listen to anymore of this. It's a romance novel disguised as historical fiction. Not my cup of tea. Hoping to return this.
So depressing. One occurrence after another of missteps. Didn't feel good at the end. It was okay but not something I would recommend.
Love her books. This is my third and can't wait to get more. Was so surprised at this one from the start. Didn't disappoint. Tell your friends.
A wonderful and engaging story that seems to be about real people. Ice read two of her three books and can't wait for the third.
I'm thinking this was not a good book for an audio version. I found the philosophy arguments interesting but I felt like they were repeated over and over. I cannot recommend this and wish I had just returned it. The ideas in the book are good - but not the format.
I am a huge Belinda Alexandra fan. I can hardly believe she wrote this. It was predictable and transparent from the start. I didn't care for the reader at all. I don't want to be overly critical - after all, it is simply my opinion. But I will never get another book narrated by her again. So very disappointed.
