Cut out the sounds of bullets, sirens, traffic. I listen to books to escape. These sounds are stressful. From now on I will check and double check to be certain that the books I buy are narrated by one person and without side effects. I will never buy another book with sound effects. Using different narrators for different parts is downright cheesy. Please stop doing this.
It is hard to tell because of the horrible distraction of the sound effects and multiple voices. I think this story is good, but whenever I hear a change of narrator or siren or bullet, I am knocked out of the story and into real life.
Sometimes I am put off by the words he chooses to emphasize. It feels as if, in an attempt to make his interpretation interesting, he puts emphasis on a word that would not be emphasized in a real conversation. This reminds me of an actor's exercise in reading and is a distraction.
No. Too long and see above.
