In the far reaches of the galaxy, a machine of war bursts into existence in a place and time it was never meant to be. On a mission of retribution for the destruction of his planet, its half-mad captain seeks the death of every intelligent being, and the annihilation of every civilized world. Kirk and Spock, two completely different and unyielding personalities must find a way to lead the only crew, aboard the only ship, that can stop him.

I loved the movie. I felt a bet let down by the book.

The book takes some liberties with the script. Characters are painted in more depth, but imho not 100% consistent with the movie's portrayal of the characters.

With that said, it is a well written and well red book . And its enjoyable in its own right.

You've heard it all before. The promises for a better life get tiresome after awhile, because you know they don't deliver. However, they do touch on a profound and inescapable truth. You were created to live your life out of a rewarding, richly textured relationship with God and others---and deep down, you long to experience that kind of life. But how?Are you willing to devote sixty days to finding out?Soul Revolution may be one of the most important books you'll ever read. In it, author and pastor John Burke guides you on a journey of experiential discovery.

It's all about staying connected to God and an experiment the author did at his Church. He then tells stories from his life and the lives of his congregation about how this experiment and being connected and open to God impacted people.

It gets a little long and there are points I don't necessarily agree with because they are made to broadly.

But, I'm trying the 60-60 experiment Burke outlines in this book. If you want to try something new to get connected to God, then I recommend this book.
