It's the perfect listen for your morning commute! In the time it takes you to get to work, you'll hear a digest of the day's top stories, prepared by the editorial staff of The New York Times. Each edition includes articles from the front page, as well as the paper's international, national, business, sports, and editorial sections.

    George says: "It's Great!"
    "NYT Audible Version"
    Overall

I have been getting this service almost a year and it continues to be an outstanding value in the subscription mode. The New York Times and a book for $14.95 per month can't be beat. I do not give many 5 stars, but these two combined deserve it.

Amidst the decaying splendor and poisonous intrigue of Chalion's ancient capital, Cazaril is forced to confront not only powerful enemies but also the malignant curse that clings to the royal household, trapping him, flesh and soul, in a maze of demonic paradox, damnation, and death for as long as he dares walk the five-fold pathway of the gods.

Pete says: "Excellent Fantasy... Epic in feel, finite in pace"
    "Bravo"
    Overall

This has not been my usual genre, but this is an exceptional book. I seldom give five stars, but this gets five from me. The story was well woven, the religious aspect not overwhelming and the narration was performance art. Well worth your time and money!

PECCAVI. The Latin word is scrawled in blood at the scene of a young woman's brutal murder: I HAVE SINNED. It's a chilling Christmas greeting for Boston medical examiner Maura Isles and Detective Jane Rizzoli, who swiftly link the victim to controversial celebrity psychiatrist Joyce O'Donnell, Jane's professional nemesis and member of a sinister cabal called the Mephisto Club.

    Ramona says: "Must Read"
    "Could not get through this."
    Overall

The darting back and forth lost my interest. The problem could be the subject matter, the narrative or me. I can't recommend this one on audible.

High in Nepal, a monastery erupts with savagery and madness. Deep in a German mine, abomination wears the innocent face of a child. Hidden in the jungles of Africa, experiments rooted in a dark past have found fertile ground again.

    Barry says: "Absorbing and Intense"
    "Good Listen"
    Overall

This is a very good book with an interesting plot... worth a listen. The narrator has a clear authoritative voice. For a book to be 5 stars it has to keep you in the car when it is time to leave the garage. This book did not meet that criteria.

Odd Thomas thinks of himself as an ordinary guy, if possessed of a certain measure of talent at the Pico Mundo Grill and rapturously in love with the most beautiful girl in the world, Stormy Llewellyn.

    Denise says: "No Doubting Thomas"
"Not a one or a five"

This was a good book... not great. It is certainly worth a listen and not a waste of time. That is the beauty of books so many different stories and opinions.

  • The March: A Novel

Almost hypnotic in its narrative drive, The March stunningly renders the countless lives swept up in the violence of a country at war with itself. The great march in E.L. Doctorow's hands becomes something more, a floating world, a nomadic consciousness, and an unforgettable reading experience with awesome relevance to our own times.

    Jim E says: "Uncivil War"
    "A good listen"
    Overall

?The March? is a well-constructed listen with a good narrator. Like many of the audible listeners I keep a book on my iPod at all times and find this one of my favorite parts of the day. I listen to the New York Times on the way to work and a novel home. I am a Civil War buff and found some interesting insight here. The suspense, however, was not so great that I sat in the car in the garage. That is my criteria for a great novel. I give it a 4 of 5.

Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

Steven says: "Great Legal Thriller, Great Reader"
    "Listen to this one!"
    Overall

Michael Connelly is able to write prose that is readable and ?audible?. This is the best of his that I have heard. Adam Grupper does a skillful job as the reader. This is a must for Audible listeners.

In Los Angeles in 1988, a 16-year-old girl disappeared from her home and was later found dead of a gunshot wound to the chest. The death appeared at first to be a suicide, but some of the evidence contradicted that scenario, and detectives came to believe this was in fact a murder. Despite a by-the-book investigation, no one was ever charged.

    Wheelman says: "Thoroughly enjoyable....."
    "Very slow beginning"
    Overall

I am a fan of both author and reader, but this one started slow and did not pick up until the last two hours. Worth a listen, but can only give a three star.

First listen, for me, on a Finder book. Scott Brick is an excellent Narrator. Many others have expounded. Worth the time and listen. Five stars should be reserved for the best of the best.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

    Joseph says: "A storyteller's story"
    "Wonderful"
    Overall

    Don't miss this one.
