Gavin Guile is dying. He'd thought he had five years left - now he has less than one. With 50,0000 refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies. Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole 16 years ago.

What made the experience of listening to The Blinding Knife the most enjoyable?

Awesome job by both the author and narrator. Eagerly awaiting the third book in the series, due out in August of 2014. No solid release date for the Audible version of which I am aware. Keep up the awesome work Mr. Weeks.

"My name is Kvothe. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep...."

Would you consider the audio edition of The Wise Man's Fear to be better than the print version?

......waiting for Mr. Rothfuss to finish book three of this series. Seriously, an engrossing read with entertaining and captivating descriptions and sub-stories.

Gavin Guile is the Prism, the most powerful man in the world. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. But Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live: Five years to achieve five impossible goals. But when Guile discovers he has a son, born in a far kingdom after the war that put him in power, he must decide how much he's willing to pay to protect a secret that could tear his world apart.

The narration was so atrocious I could barely get thru the story. I ended up being so distracted I bought the eBook so I focus on the story. I love Brent Weeks work, and was very disappointed in the quality of the narration in this particular book. The narrator was replaced for the next book in the Lightbringer series with, thankfully, a narrator who didn't remind me of Keanu Reeves.
