Alexander McCall Smith’s No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series has become a worldwide phenomenon thanks to the appeal of endearing protagonist Precious Ramotswe and the author’s charmingly quirky prose. In this 13th installment, Mma Ramotswe’s attention is focused on a pesky disciplinary problem at her adopted daughter’s school - while Grace Makutsi adjusts to wedded bliss and the famed Clovis Andersen arrives in Botswana looking for more than bush tea.

That is how this series affects my psyche! This series is literally brought to life by narrator Ms. Lecat, the world that seems far away is brought home. The way the daily lives of the wonderfully created characters make any situation in their lives easy to work thru with a cup of tea and taking time to think. With the rich story and descriptive background there is no need for sex, violence, or even mushy romance to make for a truely saticfing story. I hope to enjoy many more stories from Mr. McCall Smith & Mma Rawmoswe

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

The story is fiction, but the ability for it to be a reality is closer than you might think. The author did a great job presenting and developing the characters, and the story. I was a great story and bordered on being moderate to severe in the department of too much yet in some cases not enough of what the true reality could be if the situation were to occur in reality. Overall great story, great narration.

first of all, if you believe in creation, even in the least, you may feel judges by this book, which supposedly ( Christians shouldn't judge), I am not a atheist by any means, I believe each to their own and it all boils down to hope and faith!!! No matter how you loud at it, but I just couldn’t get into this series, and yes I read the whole first book.
But on the contrary if you believe in the traditional bible and feel the 'rapture' is certainly to come then, yes you may appreciate this concept of the interpretation of this series.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

First let me say I rarely write reviews... But this book deserves my time for review so that others will feel compelled to read/listen to it.
The characters and their stories were absolute, and brought together masterfully and naturally. I didn't want it to end! There is unfortunate truth to this story even if it is fiction, there is no doubt of the 'way things were' and still are in many ways. We should all be able to Love, Respect, and Treast one another equally and without boundry of color, race, or gender. I have and will continue to encourage others to read/listen to this wonderful novel of history and people! Thank You to the author, editors, and publisher.

awsomely entangling plot... should be made into a movie, although, it may need to be a mini series, as King is very descriptive in his writtings
