What disappointed you about Horror Stories?

Love Kilborn & Konrath, but these stories really put a chink in their armor as authors. Stories were predictable, uncreative and left me with a feeling of ennui.

What was most disappointing about Jack Kilborn and J. A. Konrath ’s story?

    The lack of suspense.

How could the performance have been better?

    By not being performed.

These psychic and horror fictions - seven of them short-shorts - reveals Straub at his spellbinding best. Two tales (first installments of his Blue Rose trilogy), are linked to Koko and Mystery and exactingly probe the consequences of boyhood clashes with evil. Includes: "Blue Rose", "The Juniper Tree", "The Buffalo Hunter", "Mrs. God", and "A Short Guide to the City".

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A story that was engaging and had some sort of purpose.

What was most disappointing about Peter Straub’s story?

It was convoluted and had no logical flow.

How could the performance have been better?

    Get a different narrator

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    None.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Would you try another book from Stephen King and/or Will Patton?

No. His books have disappointed me 99% of the time.

What could Stephen King have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Moved the story along....he goes on too many tangents making it arduous to listen to.

Would you be willing to try another one of Will Patton’s performances?

Don't know...depends If story was appealing.

What character would you cut from Doctor Sleep?

No way to answer that as entire story would change and who knows for better or worse.

In a dark future America where violence, terror, and grief touch everyone, young refugees Mahlia and Mouse have managed to leave behind the war-torn lands of the Drowned Cities by escaping into the jungle outskirts. But when they discover a wounded half-man - a bioengineered war beast named Tool - who is being hunted by a vengeful band of soldiers, their fragile existence quickly collapses.

What disappointed you about The Drowned Cities?

The story was ridiculous, not even close to description.

What could Paolo Bacigalupi have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

No clue...never have written this book?

What didn’t you like about Joshua Swanson’s performance?

    Bad narration

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger and disappointment. I have spent far too much $ to continue to accumulate crap work.
