While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

What would have made Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter better?

I am not sure if it is the story or the narrator or both but I have been listening to it for a few days and keep turning it off.

What was most disappointing about Seth Grahame-Smith’s story?

    too slow paced

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Holst?

I am not sure that it is the narrator, the story just doesn't draw me in.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?

I would probably have had more interaction between the characters and less from Abraham Lincoln only. I love books where there are rich characters and this one fell short, of course I quit listening.

She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real.

Would you try another book from Gena Showalter and/or Natalie Gold?

I would not want to listen to hours of Natalie Gold. I tried Gena because I love Kresley Cole but could not get into this book at all.

It was whispered all through London society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. Any woman caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy.

Would you try another book from Jennifer Ashley and/or Angela Dawe?

I would not try another book from this author, I couldn't finish listening to this one.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I am always looking for a new series to get into but am having a hard time finding one I like.

Would you be willing to try another one of Angela Dawe’s performances?

I am not sure I would or wouldn't since I don't really keep tract of who is reading the books.

What character would you cut from The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie?

I would add a little more drama to the romance it seems a bit slow for too long in the book.

    Any additional comments?

I just wasn't riveted enough by the story or the characters to keep listening to it. I never understood or hadn't go to the part of the book that explained the title of the book.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend it to someone who enjoys this genre. The book is beautifully written, full of imagination, rich characters and a great story. I have listened to it three times now and have only had it for a few weeks. I never do that.

What other book might you compare The Night Circus to and why?

I wouldn't compare it to another book because I haven't read anything thing similar to it. I love that it is an original.

Have you listened to any of Jim Dale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love Jim Dale he is always fantastic at bringing life to a book.

If you could rename The Night Circus, what would you call it?

    I wouldn't rename it.

    Any additional comments?

I hope this auther has more writing to do.
