On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

    "Great Listen & good book"
    Overall

I don't mind long books especially when they are good. This book has a lot of dark sides but what else do you expect from SK? It's great and I like dark parts in a book. It's a little cheesy with some of the lines and the characters are kinda predictable but overall I really like this book! enjoy it!!

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

"LOVE this book & can't wait for the movie!"
    Overall

The book is dark but it's an adventure and you can't put the book down. I have been sleeping with the lights on for 4 nights now and it's worth it! Reminds me of the "Last Stand" by Stephen King but a more exciting. I don't know what else to say but that I love it and can't wait for the movie and the other 2 books.
