Sir Payton Murray's reputation as a lover is rivalled only by his prowess with the sword, yet it is the latter gift that has captured the interest of Kirstie MacLye. Fleeing a murderous husband who left her for dead, she vows to expose the man for the vile scoundrel that he is. She also knows it will take planning, cunning, and the help of a brave, arrogant, and willing champion. Kirstie only prays that Sir Payton will accept her challenge.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I love Hannah Howell's book and am currently enjoying the Murray Family Series. However I didn't enjoy the subject matter of this book. It is based on very young boys being molested and Payton & Kirstie rescuing the boys. If you can get beyond the subject matter there is the beautiful part of a strong highland man honoring these children and falling in love with Kirstie.

If you’ve listened to books by Hannah Howell before, how does this one compare?

It's simply a comes down to a strong subject matter I did not enjoy. It is still well written and still demonstrates the power of love.

    Any additional comments?

It isn't about cutting scenes or making any changes. It's based on a man molesting little boys and a woman seeking Payton Murray to help her save the children.

    The Questing
    By Kathryn Le Veque

The opening scene is the battle of Falkirk, July 1298 AD. King Edwards English Knights are in a battle with the Scots, lead by William Wallace. Two knights, one Scottish arrow, two men in one brotherhood with a powerful bond and code of honor. One fallen knight, one friend vowing to care for his friend's wife and daughter, to love them and be good to them, Sir Cortez de Bretagne gives his friend and fellow knight, Robert Edlington peace as Robert's eyes close. The journey of Sir Cortez begins. Three months later Sir Cortez seeks out his friend's wife, Lady Diamantha de Boeage Edlington. Cortez is truly a tall, dark, big handsome knight, who is half Spanish from his mother's side, with dark hair and dark eyes. The picture in my mind's eye is one gorgeous man. Cortez has been a widower for three years, Lady Diamantha has been widowed three months, so she is less than receptive to the fact another marriage has been arranged for her with her family's blessing. Lady Diamantha and Sir Cortez are off to a rocky start, especially since they are both use to getting their own way in all matters. All Lady Diamantha wants her late husband, Robert Edlington's body retrieved from the Scottish lands of Falkirk and brought home for a proper burial. All Sir Cortez wants is Lady Diamantha and a family. When Cortez meets three year old Sophie, he looks into the face of his fallen friend and knight Robert and Sir Cortez's heart melts. Little Sophie will steal your heart away. Her character is delightful, touching and powerful throughout the story. Lady Diamantha agrees to marry Sir Cortez on one condition and that condition begins a journey of raw, pure emotion, as well as a physical journey, a quest, across England into Scotland. This story is filled with multiple layers and dynamics of family, love and friendship, as well as one man's word of honor. I loved this book from start to finish. Author Kathryn Le Veque captivates the reader with historical detail, descriptive and beautifully written topography on a quest that has so many multiple facets to it. A quest of forgiveness, healing, learning, trusting, accepting, compromising, protecting, enlightenment and raw emotions of falling in love. An unforgettable journey, an unforgettable, spellbinding story that will take your breath away. This story has excitement and plot twists that will keep you hanging on every word. The author also provides the reader with an amazing opportunity to glimpse into generations of families stemming all the way back to Kathryn's book The Wolfe. I love how this author always brings in previous characters into a story and let's her readers know the extension of life and legacy those characters contributed and throughout their generations continue to captivate us. One of my favorite books of all time. An absolute must read. Be prepared to move Sir Cortez to the top of your book boyfriend list because you will fall in love with him and this beautifully written story.

Celine Fontaine is a modern day woman from a wealthy family. She enjoys all of life's luxuries but due to a horrific incident in her past, Celine cannot find internal peace or happiness. As she rings in the new year in her family's French chateau, she feels overwhelmed by all the happy people and returns to her room to be alone. As she walks through the chateau, she looks at the initials on the archways above her and remembers her childhood fantasies of a man who loved his wife so much, that he carved their initials in the stone archways of his home. Celine wants a love like that and reflects on those thoughts as she stands in her room watching the eclipse of the moon. Suddenly, Celine finds herself in bed with a stranger and comes to learn, she has traveled back in time, to the year 1300. Sir Gaston de Varennes wakes to a beautiful woman in his bed. It is only when he see's her by the light of the moon that he realizes it is the woman the King has ordered him to marry, the niece of the most deceitful, treacherous man Gaston has ever known, the same man who murdered his father and brother. Gaston is immediately suspicious and demands to know how Christiane de la Fontaine got into his bed chamber. To say that modern day Celine Fontaine is confused and fearful is an understatement. Gaston is a tall, broad shoulder, gorgeous man with dark hair and eyes the color of coffee. There is an instant attraction between them, that bewilders both of them. As Celine finds herself married to Gaston the very next morning, her life changes drastically, but with her head held high, Celine takes on every task, every challenge Gaston throws at her. Gaston treats Celine with an over bearing, high handedness to keep from letting his desire for her, his wants, his passion, completely take over and truly make her his wife. With mistrust, a revengeful heart, suspicion and desire, Gaston finds it hard to believe Celine's story that she is not Christiane but is from seven hundred years in the future. Celine goes about her days with a positive attitude and drives Gaston crazy with her beauty. As passion pulls them together, Gaston refuses to engage his heart or his trust. With serious threats constantly surrounding them, they both struggle against the undeniable passion that keeps pulling them together. This is an amazing story by Author Shelly Thacker. There are breathtakingly beautiful and steamy hot love scenes between Gaston and Celine as they learn to believe in one another. Gaston has never believed in love, but Celine brings such a gift to him and lays it at his feet. You will fall in love with these characters and find yourself wishing you were Celine with Gaston by your side. An incredible, captivating story, that keeps you on the edge of your seat and doesn't let you go. Passionate and beautiful. A must read.

    Kathryn Le Veque: Kingdom Come

Kingdom Come is part two of The Crusader by Author Kathryn Le Veque. This Author has such an incredible talent, you feel as if you are watching a movie as you read her words. As Sir Kieran Hage and Dr. Rory Osgrove's story continues, they are faced with even greater challenges. Sir Kieran now has the holy relic in his possession and is determined to complete the mission he feels God has bestowed upon him. New threats are added to Sir Kieran's life and old enemies resurface. Rory discovers obstacles she never could have imagined facing. As she tries to let go of her independent nature and give Kieran her complete trust, the love between them grows deeper. This is so much more than a love story. It is an adventure through time as the Author takes the reader on thrilling ride. The Crusader and Kingdom Come are two of the best books I have ever read. It is an epic love story that should become a movie. I did not want Kingdom Come to end, it's that good. This is an absolute must read by Author Kathryn Le Veque. An amazing, thrilling, intriguing, passionate story. Loved it.

Author Vonda Sinclair delivers another smash hit with My Wild Highlander, second book in her Highland Adventures Series. Although I personally love reading book series in order, this exciting book stands on it's own. A true love story of Sir Lachlan MacGrath, with his wild reputation as seducer of the highlands, and Lady Angelique Drummagan, the one woman who can resist Lachlan's seductive charms. By gift of the King, Lachlan is to marry Angelique. When the King informs Lachlan of the gift he is bestowing upon him, I actually laughed outloud. I wondered for a moment what type of leading lady can the author create to bring this handsome, devilish rogue to his knees & surrender to true love. Lady Angelique is the perfect leading lady for this rogue. Angelique is fierce . yet vulnerable, confident yet insecure. Angelique carries deep emotional scars from a man in her past, as well as mystery, intrigue and threats which follow her into her marriage with Lachlan. For the first time in Lachlan's life he must engage his mind and his heart to discover what has caused Angelique to hate and fear men, including him. As Lachlan learns to be patient and understanding with Angelique, he also deals with multiple threats against them and must protect Angelique. The threats against Lachlan and Angelique force them to believe and trust one another, which works to shatter Angelique's walls around her heart and startles Lachlan as he realizing his heart is truly engaged for the first time in his life. Their love is passionate and beautifully written with sizzling hot romantic scenes woven throughout this amazing story.
I was captivated from page one to the very last word of this story. An incredible and delightful smash hit from the amazingly talented Author Vonda Sinclair. I highly recommend this book as a MUST read.

I absolutely loved this book. Author Vonda Sinclair brings to life in beautiful detail the historical setting of the Scottish Highlands. Add to the breathtaking scenery is one magnificent, brawny, dark hair Highland Laird, who will sweep you of your feet. A love story of Alasdair and Gwyneth, of a man wooing a lady to make her his own. Passion filled scenes that draw the reader into that moment, that embrace, that kiss. A flame so intense, against challenges of enemy clans, English Lords and obstacles so entangled, the reader is on the edge of her seat waiting to see if love conquers all. I highly recommend this book to all who want a great Highland romance. I loved it.

What would have made Moonlight Wishes in Time better?

The author was so wrapped up in talking and internal thoughts & the story's process that she failed to put the dynamic of romance in the book. It is a very mild HR story, appropriate for a young girl. I wouldn't really qualify it as a true romance book but a simple time travel story.

The narrator did good character voices well and kept a good pace, but lacked real emotion.
