Sir Payton Murray's reputation as a lover is rivalled only by his prowess with the sword, yet it is the latter gift that has captured the interest of Kirstie MacLye. Fleeing a murderous husband who left her for dead, she vows to expose the man for the vile scoundrel that he is. She also knows it will take planning, cunning, and the help of a brave, arrogant, and willing champion. Kirstie only prays that Sir Payton will accept her challenge.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I love Hannah Howell's book and am currently enjoying the Murray Family Series. However I didn't enjoy the subject matter of this book. It is based on very young boys being molested and Payton & Kirstie rescuing the boys. If you can get beyond the subject matter there is the beautiful part of a strong highland man honoring these children and falling in love with Kirstie.

If you’ve listened to books by Hannah Howell before, how does this one compare?

It's simply a comes down to a strong subject matter I did not enjoy. It is still well written and still demonstrates the power of love.

    Any additional comments?

It isn't about cutting scenes or making any changes. It's based on a man molesting little boys and a woman seeking Payton Murray to help her save the children.

Mattie Crockwell spends her evenings with the man of her dreams, Lord Ashton of Sinclair House. That he is a character in her historical Georgian romance novel is her little secret. She's read the same out-of-print book every night for months, anticipating the moment when she settles in for sleep and dreams of the passionate embrace of Lord Ashton. But sleep eludes her one night, and she can't find her way to her dreams and Lord Ashton. A full moon compels her to wish...for a real live man like Lord Ashton.

What would have made Moonlight Wishes in Time better?

The author was so wrapped up in talking and internal thoughts & the story's process that she failed to put the dynamic of romance in the book. It is a very mild HR story, appropriate for a young girl. I wouldn't really qualify it as a true romance book but a simple time travel story.

Would you ever listen to anything by Bess McBride again?

    Probably not.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator did good character voices well and kept a good pace, but lacked real emotion.

    Any additional comments?

    It was rather boring.

This story is one of my favorites. The banter between the two main characters is funny and quirky. A true love story.

Tayg is quite funny but isn't slow in accepting his hearts desire and moving toward it.

I'm not a big fan of Ralph Lister's character voices, but it wasn't bad.

Ardor once foolishly led Lady Adriana St. Ives into the arms of a rake, an affair that cost her everything she held dear. Though that was five years ago, this golden English beauty still vows that no man will ever again ignite the sensual passion hidden deep in her soul - not even her new husband, Tynan Spenser, Earl of Glencove, a darkly handsome and rich Irish rogue. Known as "The Black Angel" for his wild and lascivious ways, Tynan is as determined to melt his icy bride as she is to resist his seductive charms.

Would you listen to The Black Angel again? Why?

This is the second time I've listened to The Black Angel. I'll take this Irishman any day! This is a well written story and passionate too. I love the concept of the story and the family dynamics portrayed are quite endearing. The romance is incredible, the passion leaves you breathless. Overall a great story. I do wish it had an epilogue, but the ending is happy and sweet. I just wanted that little extra bit of information that gives the reader a glimpse into the happy ever after.

What aspect of Elizabeth J. Taylor’s performance would you have changed?

I think Ms. Taylor performed the characters well. I do prefer the men having a deeper more masculine tone to their voice, especially the leading man. It wasn't annoying, but if I could change anything about it, it would be that.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

What would have made The Rose Garden better?

34 chapters of explaining. The premise of the story is lovely but author drops the ball. This could have been exceptional if the author put actual romance, fire and action in the story. It is non stop story telling. I thought it was one of the longest, most boring books ever.

What three words best describe Nicola Barber’s performance?

Ms. Barber's character voices are well done, her narrating voice is a bit boring. Unfortunately the majority of this book is simply storytelling, with small bits of pieces of characters.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Someone should take this story, rewrite it into a true romance story. It has potential but needs to be completely rewritten.

    Any additional comments?

A 12 year old girl would love this story.

This book has become one of my top two favorite books. It is so well written. You will fall in love with Sir Christian. This book took my breath away and kept every second of my attention. I cannot express what a great story this is and the talent of Kathryn Le Veque. She has a gift and you are truly missing out, if you're not reading or listening to her stories. This book delivers you back in time on a exquisite journey of incredible love, intrigue and sensuality. Don't overlook the opportunity to discover the incredibly talented writings on Kathryn Le Veque. This is a must read.

What other book might you compare The Warrior Poet to and why?

As far as writing skill and talent, the only other book that I liked as much as this one is Outlander by Diana Galbadon.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I did enjoy listening to this book. The narrator is excellent. The author spends the majority of the story in character internal dialogue. That often frustrates me. It is a nice story but most of the construction of the story is what two main characters are thinking.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

More action in the characters instead of sharing their every thought, put those thoughts into action and the story would have been more enjoyable.

Have you listened to any of Derek Perkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Derek Perkins narration before. I think he is an excellent narrator. He does a great Scottish brogue.

Was Highland Seer worth the listening time?

    It was alright.
