I was so disappointed with this book. I have never met so many stupid people in my entire life. The way the narrator read the people was as if they were all airhead. Her voice lilts in odd place and she does not have a good repertoire of voices. In fact her male voices are just awful! I don't know why this book was was six hours. It could have been done in one. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Sam Hunter is a bit of an animal. He's a former Twin Cities cop who lost his badge because of excessive force. Abusive husbands, child molesters, and other lowlifes wound up looking like they'd been mauled by dogs...or wolves. Now Sam's a low-rent PI in Philadelphia. He takes the kinds of cases no one wants. His clients are usually on the fringes of society. The kind who are prey for all manner of predators--human and otherwise.

I can't seem to get enough Jonathan Maberry. I thought for sure there was a mix-up here. The story can't be 10.00 for a story that is only 50 minutes. Yet, this riveting tell just delivers a really well-read, entertaining story. I eagerly await more about this character who speaks like an old-time PI and takes care of the people who he brings into his pack. Worth a credit? Heck no. Worth a listen? Hell Yes! Reader be warned...do you want to send 10.00 for an hours worth of work? If this doesn't help you--I am returning the book and hoping to get an extended book on Sam Hunter. (The story is only rated two because of the length.)

Arianna "Ari" Williams thought she experienced the depths of true love until the man of her dreams dismissed her with no explanation. Heartbroken and humiliated, she found herself changing the course of her life and picking up the pieces of her shattered heart. Now, four years later, she has a successful career, amazing friends, and a young son with crystal-blue eyes that remind her every day of the love she imagined. Emotionally she has moved on, but the wounds never healed.

I wanted to read a little angst--something to make my heart cry a little and choke me up. This was supposed to be young love misspent. Yet, all it turned out to be was a bunch of high school drama.

I love strong heroines. Ari definitely has potential. Yet she faints and cries when she sees the girls who hurts her in college. I am not sure this is anything more than a high school romance. None of this seems plausible. Only a foolish man agrees to meet the girls who he is sure is mentally ill. It seems like no one has common sense.

It was obvious to me early on that one of the culprits was the sister. I just don't know what to make of this book. The author has potential. She just couldn't pull off the angst in a grown up fashion. She could have done better with the two lovers tackling misconceptions privately.

The sex scenes were hot and done with class. They definitely did not interfere or overshadow the story. The one thing that I love about the male hero is that he chose his love for the heroine over everything else. He NEVER doubted his woman. Well done-- Ms. Sanders.

In books like this, I am used to two narrators--one male and one female. Stephanie Rose does a credible narration as a male and female. She is also believable as a black person as well. I may give Ahren Sanders another look, but I am recommending that other readers pass this one by.

Audio books are a passion for me. The reader makes it happen. John Lane does an excellent job--I do mean excellent at channeling Jonas' personality. He delivers a LOL (people looking at you weirdly in the store) performance. Lauren Rowe has written him well. The first story offers deep thoughtful insights into both characters. I fell in love with them both. I could not get enough of Jonas!

Didi I mention that audio books are a passion for me. The reader makes it happen. Ms. Rowe's narration is a let down. I can hear the annoying wet sounds of her lips opening to speak. I even hear the swallowing. Eek eek eek!!!! Even though I wanted to hear Sarah, I cringed when she spoke. Ms. Rowe sounds old too! (Rowe is also the reason for the review of narration.)

This second book doesn't add any depth to these characters. Ms. Rowe would have been better off with the second brother's story. Jonas and Sarah have gone from a couple that I am crazy in love with to cardboard cut outs. The second book was only six hours as well. Come on! Coming off of HOT book one and being willing to listen to Rowe a second time---shows how much I liked these characters. I need constant growth to keep me interested. The characters have found love and I just have to end this here. Thanks for the wonderful ride Ms. Rowe, but I just have to get off at this stop.

I really want to read this story and in order to do so, I had to hear this narrator. I have heard many awful readers like Roy Wells--who is an old man reading young parts, Annie Chapman--who reads flatly when she does male voices, and others. I have NEVER had the DISpleasure of listening to a book where I can't hear the story because the narration is so bad. Christine Padovan stops in odd places, lilts in the wrong areas and fails as a good male narrator. It is so bad that I could not UNDERSTAND the story because the narrator was so awful. I only got 15 minutes into the story before I had to stop. I always finish a book--it's sacrilege not to in my family. Yet, here I am not able to fast forward or listen. DO NOT GET THIS BOOK! Buy the print version like I will.

Being dumped by her fiancé weeks before the wedding left Ashanti feeling unattractive and insecure. She was at the bottom of a low when her girlfriends convinced her a night out of partying and dancing would help to lift her spirits. Little did she know she would meet the man of her dreams. Not only was Hawk Malone a Marine, he was drop-dead gorgeous and, best of all, he wanted her! It was like a perfect fantasy come true...almost too perfect, in fact. But Ashanti was too far gone to worry about the clear warning signs. For the first time in a long time, she felt truly desirable and there was no telling what the resultant euphoria would make her do....

I liked this story and I like this writer. The story was quick, sexy and cute. Both characters were really strong and written well. My only pet peeve is that the author should complete a little research. Marines are not Soldiers. Soldiers are not Marines. Both would be offended to be called either. I would definitely listen to more by Dez Burke.

Everything was fine-until they hired Annabelle Wright as their administrative assistant.

    Story

Overall, I liked the books. Shayla Black can really make a scene sizzle. This is my first experience with Lexi Blake and I hope it won't be my last. I thought the story line was interesting. The heroes were the usual types: commitment-phobe, jock, and geek. They truly made an amazing group for the heroine.

That being said...The heroine is supposed to be African American and 26--I did not feel that. She just made too many errors that one only sees in young women written as non-black. I just did not get a feel that the writers understood characteristics of heroines who are mature and black. NO--that doesn't mean she has to talk slang. There was an error of victimization that she accepted--that at 26 NO woman should take.

Someone writes on my wall in blood--IT'S ON!
Lawyer talks to me disrespectfully--IT'S ON!
    Person is creepy--IT'S ON!

At a certain age, all women feel an inner strength that will not let any one walk over them. She never followed her instincts--this is typical of a young woman, not one her age. This was not the case here. The heroine stood up to her men, but did not stand up to the right people. Maybe it's just me, but I just like spunkier women. The sex scenes were hot and well done. The storyline was okay as all the characters had growth to complete. Honestly, my favorite was Tate. He was hilarious. I will continue to listen to both Shayla Black and Lexi Blake. This book is 15 hours and I did not skip ahead once. Ryan West was a great choice for the narrator! I loved his voice and he really added to the intimate scenes! Yaay! I really enjoyed the read and do recommend it.

I really hope that I have not offended anyone with my gripes because I did not intend to do so. I wrestled with this review, but in the end, had to be honest. Thanks for reading and I hope this review helped you.

Not only was the police and hospital procedures in this book unbelievable, it is amazing that there are more in the series. Narrator was good, but the overall story seemed to be little more than a view into what cannot happen in real society. The killing of the daughter was gratuitous at best. Someone compared this to Jack Reacher, but it is a far cry from being that good.

Girl gets killed trying to save a corpse--also known as the Hero. Pudge finds a way to break into the hero's home and kidnaps heroine. This book was unbelievable story that seems to just been written to pump out a book. This was not funny or entertaining! I know this won't help many decide whether to read or not--take my advice. Save your money. Other books have better plots and better stories. One pet peeve--Why does it need an epilogue? Others will say, why did you read it? In my family, you always finish the book! Always!

They say men like a lady in the living room and a whore in the bedroom. I never knew the sentiment was reciprocal. Until I met Jax Knight. A gentleman in public, a commanding, dirty talking rogue in the bedroom. Daughter of legendary fighter "The Saint," Lily St. Claire knows firsthand how fighters can be. As the owner of a chain of MMA gyms, she's no stranger to aggressive, dominating, and possessive men. That's why she's always kept her distance.

This book wasn't memorable to me. I kept wandering what all the fuss was for. I was disappointed that the heroine wasn't feisty and did not fight back or stand up for herself. She actually believed a man who hit her over her present lover.

She did not know how to go after what she wanted, yet she believed he would cheat on her when that had not even been in question. One redeeming quality was that Jax and his brother formed a bond of brotherhood and friendship.

I know this won't help many people who find this book a five star. Yet, I like strong women who can kick ass and listen to their instincts. There was some steam between the hero and heroine, but I won't listen to it again.

Collision is the story of two men living very different lives - one, a successful corporate consultant who is mourning the murder of his new bride; the other, a former CIA agent known only as "Pilgrim", whose current assignment for a fringe espionage agency is so treacherous he doesn't trust even his own boss. When they are thrown together in a violent, unexpected event, the two men realize that they've been framed in an elaborate setup.

I picked up this book because of the narrator. I would like to say, there were some obvious problems with the hero who constantly made the dumbest mistakes. But he did have a worthwhile growth. I did not like the final confrontation between the heroes, and it was obvious, once you know the characters, who killed the wife. Sometimes the author makes the characters do things that they would not do. Toward the end of the book, it seemed this way. I may give Jeff Abbott a try again. I am pretty sure this is cryptic to most readers, but I am just "meh" with this book. I'm okay if this doesn't help you. I bought the book, and it was an enjoyable AND frustrating listen, but I probably won't listen a second time.
