The Vampire Archives is the biggest, hungriest, undeadliest collection of vampire stories, as well as the most comprehensive bibliography of vampire fiction ever assembled. Dark, stormy, and delicious, once it sinks its teeth into you there’s no escape.

What disappointed you about The Vampire Archives?

Most of these stories can be downloaded for free at booksshouldbefree com or librivox com, they are THAT old... Unless you're a historian, these stories are simply to old to be exciting./scary..

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

They could have chosen stories from the 1900's instead of the 1800's and found some that was at least a bit scary or action-packed, instead of this rubbish..

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Vampire Archives?

all of it exept maybe 1 or two stories. I must admit I couldnt bear to listen thru it all before I gave up..

    Any additional comments?

Being a middle-aged man and not a teenager, I do like stories that doesn't necessarily have screaming action all the time, but listening to this audiobook is like an overdose of Valium - except, I guess the medicine wont irritate as much, as the lack of excitement in this book...

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

This is a story about people relations, nothing else.. the vampires could just as easily have been a pack of wild dogs, a virus or something else - just there to make an excuse for the plot. You dont get ANY inner dialogs from the so-called vampires. Think of it as a rip-off of game of thrones, only with indifferent characters nobody cares if survives or not.. If youre looking for a vampire-story, DONT buy this.!!

Inquisitor Glokta, a crippled and bitter relic of the last war, former fencing champion turned torturer, is trapped in a twisted and broken body - not that he allows it to distract him from his daily routine of torturing smugglers.Nobleman, dashing officer and would-be fencing champion Captain Jezal dan Luthar is living a life of ease by cheating his friends at cards. Vain and shallow, the biggest blot on his horizon is having to get out of bed in the morning to train with obsessive and boring old men.

Steven says: "Steven Pacey is magnificient."
"You better have 3 credits before buying this..!!"

What made the experience of listening to The Blade Itself the most enjoyable?

If you, like me, have enjoyed stories like The lord of the rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, The Iron druid Chronicles, Brisingr, Rangers Apprentice, The Gunslinger, Artemis Fowl, Percy Jackson, The Stormlight Archive and K.B.Andersen's The Devils Apprentice - Just to name my favorites..

    - You'd probably agree, that good as they all are, there's not one that doesnt have some boring parts in them, when you think "Yeah yeah, get ooon with it.."

Well.. Not in this book! Nor in part 2 or 3.. I dont think I've ever heard/read such a long story and not for 1 minute thought "this part is lame fill and should have been skipped"

Im so impressed, I cant find words.. Just these: Buy it (and the two other books in the serie) and prepare for at lot of laughs, giggles and excitement..!

    Any additional comments?

Impressive.. Joe Abercrombie really knows how to keep his readers glued to the book :o)
