The story line is lame and predictable and the writing amateurish. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
This book consists of a bunch of rambling scenes that never really connect. There are far too many characters and none are fully developed - just a glimpse here and there. Many scenes are included just for shock value - and the value is not much in my opinion.
At times I thought this was predictable but found my predictions were wrong. I was a bit disappointed in the end cause I hoped for a series. It could still be a series but would be harder to continue as ended.
This is the stupidist book I have tried to listen to in a long time! Reminds me of the Dumb and Dumber type movies my boys liked to watch when they were teenagers. Just couldn't get past the first few chapters.
I chose this book cause I wanted a clean, simple love story and expected it to be the typical sappy romance. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at the story line. It is a well written and fun story.
riviting, eyeopening, heartwrenching
This is an extremely well written book that will make you cherish the pampered life we lead as US citizens. It is a very realistic story of what
too many to chose.
Without giving too much away there comes a time when those in power have to chose who will live and who will die based on who will or will not receive food rations. At the same time they fight for the lives of family pets. Being a pet lover I have to wonder given a choice between watching a neighbor die and slaughtering my own dogs for food, which would be the harder.
I'm not much of a doomsday fanatic. I don't fear death for I know that life on this earth is but a breath of the life we will live in heaven. I do believe the
I've heard all the Dexter books and also regularlly watch the series. It had been awhile since the last book and I forgot how different the TV series is from the books. If you have been watching the series on ShowTime and have not read the previous books you can still listen to this one. Just realize there are significant differences... namely in the books Dexter has a girl (not a boy), his wife is alive, his step children know about his dark passenger and in face the boy also has a dark passenger, and his sister Deb has a son close to the age of Dexter's daughter. Additionally although his father played the same role in Dexter's past we hear very little about him in the books.Otherwise if you enjoy the TV series you will love the books.
Since the main character (the one telling the story) is supposed to be Asian I was surprised the author (definitely not Asian) chose to read it - especially without an accent.
I liked the story but it was a bit slow and predictable.
Definitely! Her books never fail to make me laugh! If you are new you can listen to this without going back to the earlier books but you will definitely want to catch up on previous Stephanie Plum books.
Lorelei King has a great reading voice.
I have a hard time choosing a favorite - Lula and Grandma keep me in stitches!
This could be a great series but the vulgar language gets in the way. I am not a prude - I have no problem with language that adds to the story line or forms a particular character's identity. But this author uses vulgar language for no reason - it adds nothing and simply makes the book difficult to listen to. Sad if you ask me because like I said this could be an great series.
This was a total waste of a credit! Poor writing, unnecessary language, what is the point???
