They came in their thousands. We fought them as one. It started during a winter storm on the North Eastern Seaboard which brought with it a strange green rain. Where it fell, everything withered, died, and was consumed. The residents of remote outposts in Maritime Canada escaped the worst of the early damage, but that was a blessing in disguise, for they were left to watch as first North America, then the world, was subsumed in the creeping green carpet of terror. And that was just the beginning.

Now ... here's the catch: having the power means you are bonded irreversibly to a smartass, sociopathic alien life form. Not so awesome. So, what would you do with all of that power? The way I figured it, I had one of two options: Option #1) Use it to commit crime or Option #2) Use it to fight crime. My name is Gabe Garrison and I chose Option #2."

The protagonist was kind of cliche and whiny. He seemed more like the comedy-relief sidekick than the hero.

    Robert McCammon's The Five

What three words best describe Bryan Reid’s performance?

Acceptable, OK, Nothing wrong, but not exceptional.

I wouldn't mind finding out what happens to the love interest.
