A great story after a bad first chapter. Twists and surprises all through the ride.
Great story told with humor and sensitivity. A look into Paris before world war 1. A peek behind the curtain in the life of Picasso
Melissa Moran sounds about 12 years old so the voice is jolting in this story of a mother of 3 turned assassin. She has a habit of ending her sentences with a rising inflection which makes everything sound like a question. Captain Kirk fans would love it.
Concept was good, writing was decent, I think. I kept waiting for the narrator to pop her gum and break out the valley girl "ya know"
No, I am returning the book
NO. I tried three sessions and the story never started, I just kept hearing about why it was written and how different perceptions were at that point in history
It could have told an actual story
I was looking forward to a young man's view of going off to war. I got so bogged down in the prelude, introductions etc. etc. etc. I gave up.
Profoundly personal story of the early family life and career of the famous professor Hawking and its toll on his wife and children
Compelling story of one woman's internal decay and its effects on her family.
The narrator is good but her young voice is usually at odds with the mind voice of a middle aged woman fighting an old people disease.
I couldn't stop listening as the story twisted and turned. Great pace. Decent chapter development. If the author would quit repeating words and phrases quite so often,...if every noun did not always require half a dozen adjectives. Each verb 2 or 3 adverbs, ... It would have been a story I could recommend.
Historical, and personable the narrative is wonderfully informative in an entertaining way. Not a story as much as a collection of remembrances.
The description of life in England in the 1950's with the history of the buildings and the way of life
she whispers when she narrates. Actual stories and character voices are great, but the voice that ties them together is the one I use reading a good night story to make a toddler drift off.
it would be a lousy film, no action all history
Better would have spent the first chapter on something more interesting than why to read the book. I do have it already. The second chapter discussed how to get more out of your annual employment interview (I'm self employed, not helpful). The third chapter focused on coaching and mentoring, still no information about how to figure out what you (or I) am ment to do
No, no, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, heck NO
Great plot twists and character development
The people, the history, the scheming.
Voices especially the accents
The experience was most enjoyable because of the variety of mythical creatures dealing with modern day life....sort of
The Anne McCafferty Dragon series, also speaks with the voices of dragons and the people who love them. In this book add a little gang tension and a Vegas style mob. Then shuffle up the talents so nobody is boring.
The voices were wonderful.
I laughed and cried. If they would have left out all the sex I would recommend it to everybody.
