Three words: Entertaining, Amusing, Historical. Sort of a Forest Gump meets History of the World!
Similar to Forest Gump in that there are fictional effects of the protagonist on true historical events.
Steven Crossley's excellent narration enables the listener to envision the happenings and the individuality of the characters.
Yes. Of course the length of the book prohibited me from listening all in one sitting.
Recommended to me by a friend. I, in turn, recommended it to many of mine.
The story of everyone's dream; deepest desire--the return of deceased loved ones.
A confirmation that others feel the same way as I do.
The author has taken a dream and expressed it into a hope, a memory, yet the horror of "what if".
One of the best books I've ever read.
I don't know if this book is truly a 4 or 5 star book because I can't get past chapter 2.
I am very disappointed in Rowling's attempt in this book. I haven't finished the book. Too slow to start. Not but in chapter 3. Not impressed with the lackluster sexual references.
I don't know if it's Tom Hollander as much as it is the material. In a word--Boring!
Since I've only read the first 3 chapters I can only judge on that and I would have to say--the first 3 chapters.
Terribly disappointed in this long awaited book from J K Rowling. But nothing can compare with Harry Potter.
I read a lot of books from different genres and this one difinitely ranks very high on my list of "must reads".
I like how Katniss begins to understand how the capital is manipulating more than just the games themselves and her decision to change that.
Katniss has to be my favorite because she is, after all, the protagonist in the story.
I felt that Catching Fire as a whole could be considered a development of a "movement".
I enjoyed the audio version because of the convenience of listening while traveling to work every day.
I can't compare the hunger games to other books in its genre because I don't typically read books in this genre.
Carolyn McCormick does an excellent job of narration of the book. She enables you to feel and see the characters and action.
There were several moments in the hunger games that moved me. In particular was the death of Ru.
I would highly recommend this to a friend, in fact I have! To everyone I talk to. I have recommended all of Kate Morton's books, and especially the audiobooks. Caroline Lee does an excellent job of narrating.
The Secret Keeper is like Kate Morton's other books. Kate Morton's books are not really like other books I have read. The bridging of generations and eras into her stories make them unique.
Caroline Lee's narration expresses the very essence of each of the characters in such a way that you can visualize them.
Definitely a book I wanted to listen to all in one sitting, however, because of the length of the book it took more than that! Each chapter left me eager to start the next one. Difficult to find a "pausing" place.
Absolutely LOVE Kate Morton's books. They just keep getting better. The Secret Keeper is the best--only because it is her latest and the most recent one I've read!
