This holiday season, join two of today’s most popular paranormal authors for a special look into their worlds, where creatures are always stirring and no one sleeps through the night. The Bite Before Christmas: Teddy Brunswick knows about the immortals among us. He’s worked with them, called them friend - but he never counted on being snowed in with one over Christmas. Home for the Holidays by Jeaniene Frost: Cat and Bones are looking forward to a normal holiday - at least as “normal” as it gets for the combustible vampire couple....

I haven't read anything in the past by Lynsay Sands, and didn't really care for the first story, but I was NOT going to pass up Cat and Bones, even if it was a short story. I absolutely love This series and Tavia Gilbert is always a great narrator

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Where does Hounded rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I listen to a LOT of books in the paranormal genres, and I had heard of this series but honestly shy away from books related to wizards and such. From the name, I thought this series would fall in that category. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! And happily so! I absolutely love this series and how it encompasses so much in each character. And the humor in each book keeps me literally giggling...

What other book might you compare Hounded to and why?

I can't think of any other series quite like this one. I love anything Irish/celtic and this of course deals with this, and all other Gods from all the other pantheons, but because on the main character all the myths and legends get brought into a modern light and in such funny witty ways by Atticus.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I can't say enough about Luke Daniels. I normally prefer female narrators because they can preform a much wider range of voices believably, but Daniels is amazing. He has a huge range of voices and accents for all of the different characters from around the world AND even makes his female voices very believable. He has become my favorite narrator!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely! My only saving grace is that there were already 7 books in the series when I started listening so I was able to listen to them all back to back. Now I have to wait just like everyone else :(

    Any additional comments?

Oberon, Oberon, Oberon!!!! If you love dogs this series is for you. He's the best character and that's a tough spot to claim with so many great ones in these books. He will always make you laugh!!!

But now something - or someone - is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong while living vampires attack humans and Inderlanders alike. The pressures build when the city is quarantined to contain the unreliable magic, and Rachel must stop the attacks before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war.

This is the best Hollows book yet. I've always loved the tension between Rachel and Trent, and this time it gets turned up. All the other characters are here too, although I would have liked to see a little more of Al. Either way, I couldn't put it down and finished it it 2 days. The story flows and keeps you on your toes al always. Rachel is at her witty best. You see a very different side of Trent in this one, and Jenks and Ivy are always there to pick up the mess Rachel leaves in her trail.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Horrible narration that made it hard to pay attention to the story

What disappointed you about Unholy Ghosts?

I can't seem to get past the slang used in the setting of the book

Yes, I like her, just not this series.

Would you be willing to try another one of Bahni Turpin’s performances?

Yes, she is a great narrator. I just don't like the slang and the drug world the main character lives in.

Thirty years have gone by since the darkness descended and the Black Harvest began, a time when a serial killer sheared a bloody swath through the quiet Pennsylvania village. The evil that once coursed through Pine Deep has been replaced by cheerful tourists getting ready to enjoy the country’s largest Halloween celebration in what is now called “The Spookiest Town in America.”

Would you try another book from Jonathan Maberry and/or Tom Weiner?

I would if there were a different narrator. The synopsis of this series sounds great and I couldn't wait to listen, until the narrator made it too hard to follow the story. I think the story would be great to READ, but not to listen to.

What could Jonathan Maberry have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Use a different narrator

What didn’t you like about Tom Weiner’s performance?

Nothing... and I listen to a LOT of books. He cannot do voices different voices, and his female voices sound cheesy, He is monotone to the point I can't follow the story. I get lost and can't tell who is who...

This series is very different from any of those!!! It's more like a vampire heroine book but with a GREAT twist on being a zombie!!! And each book just keeps getting better and better!!!!!
