I have already listened to this twice. It takes a little while to get used to since it is a different twist on the shifter human relations then you see in most paranormal books, but that is what makes it so good. The characters are excellent, well developed and likable. Bishop does a good job of establishing and explaining the world for these characters. The story is engaging and keeps you listening and wanting more at the end. I already cannot wait for the next book to come out.
Book 4 of the Colorado Mountain Series and I they just keep getting better. This one was is sweet and funny, it will make you laugh and cry. Chace is one of my favorite characters and it was great to see him heal and get his happily ever after. Although this is #4 in the series, all the books in the series can stand alone. This is a long listen, but it will go by quick. Worth the credit.
One part science fiction, one part crime drama with a dash of political thriller. Smartly written, the story moves quickly and holds your attention. The story is based in a futuristic world and Scalzi does a good job integrating and explaining the technology while not letting the story get bogged down. Crime/police stories are not typically my thing, but I really enjoyed this one. If you like his other books, this one will not disappoint. I also loved the Will Wheaton version.
I think this series keeps getting better and better. I love all of Kristen Ashley's other audiobooks, but I think this is my favorite series so far. Great character development and writing, good back stories, heartwarming romance with some thrills. It has a bit of everything. This is book 3 in this series, and although you don't need to begin with book one, I'd start with The Gamble and then listen to Sweet Dreams since some characters and places from those books referenced. Over all a great listen.
This is a really fun listen. On the surface this is a nerd-gets-hot-guy story, but Janie is not a typical nerd and the author does a good job making her character's insecurities believable and not annoying. Janie is a 26 year old, smart girl that is insecure and querky due to her background. She starts out having a bad day but meets Quinn, the good looking building security guard, that helps her land a new job. They develop a relationship despite Janie's insecurities, ex boyfriend issues and family dramas.
There were parts of the story that were predictable (Janie not realizing Quinn's position in the company), but there is enough other stuff going on with the characters to keep me engaged and listening. I also enjoyed the humor of this story, I liked the eccentric trivia and Janie's internal dialogues.
Over all this is a very solid contemporay romance/ chic-lit story and a highly enjoyable listen. I highly recommend this one - especially at $6 with the Whispersync.
I think I liked book 2 better then book one. If you like paranormal romance, then you will like this series about the alien warriors finding their true loves here on earth while searching for others of their race here to commit horrible crimes. For a book with so much death, it was still a light read with most of the heavy stuff glossed over or resolved in a few pages. It has some mystery to it and left some questions to be answered in the next book. This one won't be for everyone, but really liked it.
This one is a great addition to the Christina Lauren books, funny and sexy and oh so very hot. I did not like it as well as her previous books, but I absolutely LOVED them, so you have to take that with a grain of salt. This book is still very enjoyable and very good, I was just not blown away, like I have been in the past. The story and some characters did not seem as developed as in past books and the ending was good, but did not provide all the resolution I wanted to see, not sure if more is coming in another book. Overall a highly enjoyable listen.
I was really impressed with this debut novel. It's a really great paranormal/urban fantasy story and I can't wait for the next one to be released on audible. In this series, the main protagonist is a demon, but she's not as evil as most literary demons are. She's struggling to live a normal human life, while causing just enough mischief to keep her the boredom at bay and staying under the radar of the angels that police the human world.
This book had some pretty funny moments and I found myself laughing out loud. It reminded me of the Charlie Daniels series, and if you like those books I think you'll really enjoy this one. I highly recommend it.
I am sure there is not much more I can add to the great things that have already been said about this book. It is another rock solid installment of Molly Harper's Werewolf series. All her books have been excellent, so to meet the hight expectations I had for this one is impressive. This book was a joy, it was nice to hear from some of the characters from the prior books and the romance between Anna/Tina and Caleb is great. This book does deal with some domestic abuse, but over all it is a typical humorous, fun romantic story from Molly Harper and a must for any paranormal romance fan.
Also I have to add that the performance is excellent and really adds to the enjoyment. I think this is one series that is better in audio due to the fabulous narration.
I with this one was longer, or there were a second installment. Both main characters struggle with their self confidence, and the dark elevator they get stuck in allows them to see each other of who they really are. You can't help but fall for Caden and root for the relationship with Makenna. If you are looking for something short, this is a quick listen and very engaging. I recommend it for all romance fans. It is a good solid contemporary romance with good dialogue and character development.
I loved this one. I found it hard to put down. I have read a bunch of 'OK' books lately and this one really made me recall that feeling of getting sucked into a truly good book and not wanting to put it down, even if you have work in 5 hours. The book is written from the male prospective and I really liked that on this story, and it was nice that it was not the male perspective of a story we had already seen from the female viewpoint. The main character, Drew, is a player and the book is a dialogue between him and the reader. It was very well written and laugh out loud funny. I look forward to more books from this author. If you like romance books, I recommend this one, it can be a bit crass and there is a lot of sex, so you might want to think twice if you don't like that. It reminded me of Beautiful Bastard - with a little less sex.
