Manages to be funny, irreverent, and respectful all at once. This was not tossed off in a day, but is a thouroughly though out and honest exposition of personal change. Not for the dogmatic religionist or stone=cold athiest. Shows true compassion, emotion, and rationality.
The story and the narrator work well togther. Bujold is in top form and the narrators accent (english) and clarity bings this rich story to life. I've read this story more than once, and it was made richer by the narration.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks and the voices, accents, inflections used by Brendan Frasier (George Of the Jungle, Ugly American) are absolutely amazing! I can't believe it. It's marvelous. Enough to make me want to listen to any and all the books he's narrated. My children loved it and I loved it. Cornelia Funke is a fabulous fantasy writer. What a great pairing.
