In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

Michael G. Kurilla says: "Post-apocalyptic life in a silo"

What made the experience of listening to Wool the most enjoyable?

I loved this series and by far, this book was the most enjoyable of the three. I've recommended these books to several friends. It was a bit slow at first but once Juliette enters the story it gets better.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Juliette - she's an amazing, strong person.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Sayle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but she is now my favorite narrator. She's so good at doing voices for the different characters you knew who was speaking immediately.

Hannah Payne awakens to a nightmare. She is lying on a table in a bare room, covered only by a paper gown, with cameras broadcasting her every move to millions at home. She is now a convicted criminal, and her skin color has been genetically altered. Her crime, according to the State of Texas: the murder of her unborn child, whose father she refuses to name. Her color: red. The color of newly shed blood.

    Any additional comments?

I'd read some reviews that were unfavorable about this book and they didn't hold true. Every minute of this book was captivating. Sometimes it takes me a while to get sucked into a book. This book had me from the start. If your open minded this book is easy read. If your ultra religious this book will offend you as it will challenge you too see things another way, to have compassion for mankind instead of only hold fast to rigid, unbending rules. This book is about love and acceptance.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

If you could sum up Zombie Fallout in three words, what would they be?

    I. Love. It.

    Any additional comments?

I love this series and cannot recommend it with more enthusiasm. I did not like the narrator but by book three accepted him and now would not have anyone else as the voice of Mike Talbot. I absolutely love BT.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I had a hard time getting into this. It took forever to get to the part where the zombies enter the story and that part was very boring. Once they did emerge it was worth the wait. I loved the evolution of the zombies in this book and for that alone am glad I read it. The last line in the book is the best.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Where does The Hunger Games rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among my favorite, these books are deep, imaginative and engaging. I so love Katniss. You really don't understand how awesome she is from watching the movies. Nor do you understand the depth of what is going on between Katniss, Gayle and Petah.

Transformation Road takes the listener on the long and often tragic journey of Sean Anderson's battle with food and morbid obesity spanning just about his entire life. His experience with declaring war with himself graphically depicts the tortured soul of most of us who face an addictive and pathological relationship with food. Having won many a battle but inevitably losing his war, Sean offers us some insight as to who the real enemy has been.

Where does Transformation Road - My Trip to Over 500 Pounds and Back rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best. I didnt want to listen to this for a while. I started it and didnt have the patience to listen and quit it for about 6 months. I even wished I could delete it.

I wasnt ready to listen to it. I wasnt ready to identify with it. I wasnt ready to change.

Thank you for writing your story and thank you even more for taking the time to personally narate it. It's a powerful story, utterly honest and with the power to help.

    Absolutely great book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Windup Girl?

    The end.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

I loved the story, loved the characters and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was so sad when it ended as I could listened to this story for much longer. It was hard to get into at first because I was slightly confused at all the different characters but once I got sucked in, I absolutley loved it.
