Wow. Paul had me crackin up in this one; it's not fair where is face landed when he fell on that female zombie. LOL, just gross. When is Mrs. Deneaux gonna get what she deserves? I hope it's slow and painful. This book made me sad, and I'm wonderin why did he make that person go out like that? It was so brutal, slow, and very painful. SMH

Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

I did not expect to love this book. It was good from the beginning to the end. I really liked the dialog between the characters, too. Chava is a golem (made of clay), and Ahmad is a jinni (made of fire). Good book.

What happens when an unprecedented infection sweeps the world, leaving the earth on the brink of the Apocalypse? This infection goes far beyond disease. Beyond even the nightmare images of walking dead or flesh-eating ghouls. The infected are turning into creatures unlike anything ever dreamed of ... more complex, more mysterious, and more deadly. Trapped in the northwestern United States as winter begins to fall, Terry and Kendra have only one choice: they must cross a thousand miles of no-man’s-land.

This book scared the shit out of me; but I love me some Zombie books and movies. Me and my son do a zombie apocalypse scenario every time we're in a parkin garage, mall, picture show, or traffic, and we discuss what our evac plan would be for right then and there. It gets pretty interestin.

Ok, back to my review. Did I say how much this book scared the shit out of me? Oh, yeah I did. The scariest scene in the book for me was when Joe and Kendra were at Mike's place and when they were on their way out and he was askin, "where were those boys?" Man that gave me chills. I don't understand why they titled this book Devil's Wake bc in the book DW is a place, and Ima stop right there w/ that. Those of you who have read it know why I'm askin this question. I wanted more of the story. I don't so much need closure buuuttt I just need alil more. Mrs. Due and Mr. Barnes have a fan for life. I look forward to more great reads, from this Duo.

Ok, I just finished listenin to this on audio and it wasn't as good as it was when I 1st read it. I found the sex scene w/ V and her-who-should-not-be, a total yawn. I don't hate her, I just don't like her at all. I wanted more Qhuinn, and yeah it wasn't his book.... Whispering, I kinda like the BOB. I think that there's something really hot about them, and that menage between Xcor and Throe, was hot. I look forward to readin more about them.

When I solicited him to model for my erotic photography book, I didn't expect such a heated, passionate photo session. And now that we've crossed that line, our bodies aren't the only things that have been exposed."

Ok, I had issuses with this book. The main character is Olivia, she's, I think half wht/ half blk. She's adopted and doesn't know that she's black until she's in the 2nd grd. It was never an issue in her home, I can dig it. However, I did not like Olivia. I thought that she was weak and had absolutly no idea of who she was. Lets see if I can explain w/o spoilin the story. Olivia was datin Patrick for 4yrs and they became engaged. They didn't sleep together the whole 4 yrs, and then she finds out that Patricks gay and that he's been sleepin around on her. A cpl of yrs later they become besties. She hangs w/ him, his boyfriend, and all of their friends. She's a Hag. She meets Alex who is also gay, through Patrick and they become close.(I see a pattern, here) Patrick hurt her, and she does whateva he asks her to do, bc she's still in love w/ him. (Yes,weak). She has some issues w/ Alex, but she won't just come out and ask him about them. Things you really need to be askin when ur likin someone. She talks about how she doesn't know who she is or who she's suppose to be. Shouldn't you know at a certain age who you are? This chick is, I think 28 yrs old, but anyways. One of her parents is Jewish and the other Catholic. This was the only time in the book that I felt sorry for her, bc each parent wants her to choose their religion, so she's confused. But this is all JMO.

Richard Mayhew is an unassuming young businessman living in London, with a dull job and a pretty but shrewish fiancée. Then one night he stumbles upon a girl lying on the sidewalk, bleeding. He stops to help her, and his life is changed forever. Soon he finds himself living in a London most people would never have dreamed of: a city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels. It is a world that exists entirely in a subterranean labyrinth of sewer canals and abandoned subway stations.

Wow! Jonathan Odell, I would have never guessed he was white after hearin this book. And if you want to know what I'm talkin about then you'll just have to read the book, to see. I truly enjoyed this book. Granada and Aunt Sylvie had me laughin out loud, but mostly it was Granada; Polly Shine gave me a few chuckles as well. Everytime I think of Daniel Webster I can't help but to giggle, yes giggle. I want everyone I know to read or listen to this book. I want people to enjoy it as much as I did, and I want to hear their opinions about it. I also liked the interview that J. Odell added to the end of the book. It was indeed a good read.

I thought this book would never end. I found myself ffwd through certain parts. These books don't get me all excited the way that they use to; I use to be alil obsessed over this series but not anymore. I think Ima save my credit and get my library to order LaL on audio for me.
She really had it in for Tohr, huh. The only thing that I liked about this book was the look that Qhuinn gave Blay, when he was thinkin about their future. Oh, and when Lassiter was in Tohr's room and Tohrs hands were not visible, I lmao. Love Lassiter. I could not stand that Soap Opera that was playin out between Xhex and John. Xhex was ready to burn her bras and shit, and I am woman her me roar.(wait she probably doesn't wear bras) The guys were just lookin out for her, but anyways. I'd like to see Lassiter get a love interest, but I'd like to see a lot of things happen in these books. I hope LaL is better than this one.
And she trys waaayyy to hard with the slang, and with tryin to make the brothers cool.(yawn)2/28/13

You can't kill the dead! Like any good monster, the zombie has proven to be ever-evolving, monumentally mutable, and open to seemingly endless imaginative interpretations: the thralls of voodoo sorcerers, George Romero's living dead, societal symbols, dancing thrillers, viral victims, reanimated ramblers, video-gaming targets, post-apocalyptic permutations, shuffling sidekicks, literary mash-ups, the comedic, and, yes, even the romantic.

This book was not for because, I don't like when stories just end, without actually endin. All the stories in this book where like that. A few ended enough that it wasn't so bad.
I now own this book and it's one that I'll never listen to again; I try not to read reviews because some people don't know how to add SPOILER ALERT to them, and in this case I wish I would've.
