Overall the story and variety of interesting characters keep this book going for me. I would have rated it much higher, but could not get past the author's insistance on making some of the "good" characters pagan satan worshipping witches. I would have thought the author might have been intelligent enough to know that this type of plot line would not appeal to 99% of the readers. Other than that, seems like a pretty realistic view of how society would react and collapse following an EMP type of event with a interesting twist. Great perfomance by narrator.
Unlike Patriots that I listen to three times, I am probably good listening to Survivors once. It is slow getting started and bounces back and forth between characters way too much. I did like the additional background information on some of the characters from the Patriots book, but some just seem to be boring background filler. Still entertaining enough for a credit.
Story line and performance were excellent. Not as hard core as "One Second After" and goes into more detail on how the characters prepared and survived. "Survivors" is the follow-up book and adds a few extra characters and gives some more background information on "Patriots" characters. Very realistic senerio for the upcoming economic collapse and good strategys for preparing. Also great preppers forum by Author.
