Louis C.K.'s unique observations of everyday life go way beyond politically incorrect and his views of human behavior are more than hilarious in this stand-up event. Filmed at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI, C.K.'s performance proves he is every bit the title of his special.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

    No

Has Hilarious turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

    Nothing

    Any additional comments?

A big part of Louis CK's act is visual, many of the jokes on this album suffer, or are completely lost because we can not see facial and bodily expressions. Better of getting a DVD.

This is a story about madness. It all starts when journalist Jon Ronson is contacted by a leading neurologist. She and several colleagues have recently received a cryptically puzzling book in the mail, and Jon is challenged to solve the mystery behind it. As he searches for the answer, Jon soon finds himself, unexpectedly, on an utterly compelling and often unbelievable adventure into the world of madness.

What did you love best about The Psychopath Test?

The author writes in a very accessable and entertaining manner. His approach to the subject matter is open minded and non judgmental. The book is packed full of interesting specific story's of people on the fringes of society but also raises questions about the how those on the fringe are treated and categorised by those supposedly in the centre.

Your senses aren't just a part of you-they define you. Nothing you experience would be possible without the intricate power of your senses. But how much about them do you really know? Your ability to sense and perceive the world around you is so richly detailed and accurate as to be miraculous.

Best-selling novelist, memoirist, and biographer Edmund White displays his sharp wit and boundless erudition in 37 portraits of the writers, artists, and cultural icons who have captured his curiosity and imagination for the last 20 years. White is as compelling as he is unpretentious in these stories of his encounters with some of the most provocative writers, artists, and personalities of our time.

What did you like best about Arts and Letters? What did you like least?

The idea about righting by starting: I remember....

Would you recommend Arts and Letters to your friends? Why or why not?

No. I really only bought it for the sections on artists, which are very short and don't provide the sort of insight I was hoping for

Could you see Arts and Letters being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    No

Savagely funny and hauntingly sad, Lolita is Nabokov's most famous and controversial novel. It is the story of tortured college professor Humbert Humbert and his dangerous obsession with honey-skinned schoolgirl Dolores Haze.

What made the experience of listening to Lolita the most enjoyable?

I wouldn't exactly call this an enjoyable read. It is, however extremely well written and thought provoking, and wonderfully performed by Mr. Irons.

If you could take any character from Lolita out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Lolita, because I'd want to hear the story from her point of view.

Jinananda has been teaching Buddhist meditation for 20 years. On this recording, he introduces two traditional practices which help develop clarity, calmness and positivity, and reflects on the deeper significance of meditation – all with the greatest good humour and in his own unique style. Accessible and thought-provoking, this audiobook tells you how to get started with meditation and keep going through the ups and downs of everyday life.

Where does Jinananda: Meditation - The Buddhist Way rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very highly. This book is just what I was looking for.

What did you like best about this story?

The author is clear and informative and doesn't talk in that artificially soft voice wishy washy voice you get in a lot of books aimed at people trying to better themselves.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    All of it

What did you learn from Jinananda: Meditation - The Buddhist Way that you would use in your daily life?

Although it is a short book, it is packed with ideas to think about and practice excersises. I have already listened to its twice, and I expect I will listen to it many more times. There are useful meditations at the end of the book to help begginers like me get underway.

    Any additional comments?

A very good introduction to Buddhism and meditation. Highly recommended

Postmodernism claims that "modernity", which grew from the Enlightenment to the Industrial Revolution and Marxism, has collapsed. We now live in an endlessly "contemporary" culture, a virtual world of "hyperreality" containing such strange phenomena as post-Holocaust amnesia, Disneyland, cyberspace, and Fukuyama's proclaimed "end of history".

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

These questions are stupid. This is a non fiction book!

Survival of the Beautiful is a revolutionary new examination of the interplay of beauty, art, and culture in evolution. Taking inspiration from Darwin's observation that animals have a natural aesthetic sense, philosopher and musician David Rothenberg probes why animals, humans included, have innate appreciation for beauty - and why nature is, indeed, beautiful.
