Years ago, the day before Ellie moved from Georgia to California, she and her best friend, Nolan, sat beneath the Spanish moss of an ancient oak tree where they wrote letters to each other, and sealed them in a rusty old metal box. The plan was to return 11 years later and read them. But now, as that date arrives, much has changed. Ellie, bereft of the faith she grew up with, is a single mom living in a tired apartment trying to make ends meet. Sometimes she watches television to catch a glimpse of her old friend - Nolan, now an NBA star, whose terrible personal tragedies fueled his faith and athletic drive in equal measure.

    Story

I loved this book. Despite the predictability of the plot line, it was very well written and I found myself not wanting to stop listening, so I read it in 2 sittings.

It does have some twists and turns throughout the story, allowing the reader to glimpse into more than just the main character's lives.

For those who want a story they can enjoy on a lazy weekend or something to entertain for a long drive, this is perfect. However it does have some strong christian themes and is very neatly wrapped up by the end of the story, so it wont be everybody's cup-of-tea.

All she wants is the perfect Christmas Eve wedding... It's been on Anna's wish-list since she was a little girl, dreaming of a far happier family life than she'd ever experienced. But now - only two weeks before her big day - her perfect husband-to-be drops a bombshell. Only nothing's going to stop Anna's plans - not even the pesky inconvenience of discovering her groom already has a wife!

    Story

It is such a pity that this narrator was reading the book. All her characters had the same tone and deliberate speech pattern. I felt like i was listening to a children's book the way she was reading all the voices. It gave the story a stilted, fake feel, when I am sure the author would have wanted the book read at a natural pace.
The story itself would have been a more enjoyable experience if a different narrator read the book. Very disappointed.

Four men, one calling: to serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, and their partners willingly stand up to the worst the world can offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they’re quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. They know that God desires to turn the hearts of fathers to their children, but their children are beginning to drift....

I often struggle with narration for audiobooks, but the narrator on this book really complemented the story, not detracting from the content at all.

The author's were not afraid to tackle the tough issues of fatherhood, and the responsibilities fathers face. It is definetly a thought-provoking read. I am hoping to see the movie created by the author's also. I recoomend it!!

Nobody's Child sweeps you into a world where unprecedented choices never intended by heaven lead to unintended consequences never before seen on earth. Weaving together bioethics and faith, Nobody's Child dramatizes a future that is already upon us, with consequences we can no longer avoid.

The narrator delivers little passion and commitment to different character voices. The story is very slow and boring with little to entertain the audience. I literally fell asleep listeing to it. Save your money.
