I eagerly await each new Sandford novel because I love his characters and his ability to unravel a serious crime mystery and make you laugh while he's unraveling. I'm totally in love with the Lucas Davenport family although I'd love to read more about the baby boy. Any story that has Lucas Davenport and crew then throws in his young side-kick Virgil Flowers has to be a winner. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait for the next John Sandford "Prey" Novel. I give this one a Ten...wait, I forgot Five is the highest score. Five Stars for John Sandford's Storm Prey.
I can't finish the first chapter of this book because the narrator whines and sounds as though she is about to burst into tears. She sounds this way even when she's reading as the child. I have never stopped a book this early but I can't stand her voice.
The subject was dark and real but some how LIane Moriarty managed to add humor. Madeline was sarcastic, emotional, loyal and funny. She was the perfect good friend to women who had misery in there lives. This one kept me guessing right up to the last chapter. I expect great things when I purchase a book by Liane Moriarty and I'm never disappointed. She is a gifted story teller. More more!!
This was a book that I didn't want to finish. I wanted it to go on and on. Liane Moriarty created characters that were unique but believable. This book was 3, maybe 4 stories that all tied together at the end. I laughed and cried over and over. The Husband's Secret ranks in my top 10 favorite books ever read.
I expect this book to be required reading for future generations. It is so moving, so well written. I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates good writing.
You can never go wrong with a John Sandford novel. I enjoy his unique style of telling who did it in the first chapter then allowing the reader to watch as the brilliant Lucas Davenport solves the crime. Virgil Flowers is also a favorite. If it's written by John Sanford it will be in my library.
I really enjoyed this book. It was so well written. I have never had an addiction to alcohol but after meeting Hildi and getting to know her, I have a better understanding of how terrible the illness can be. I would and will recommend this book to all of my friends.
I loved this book. It made me smile, laugh out loud and cry my eyes out. How can you get better than that? The 3 Supremes became my friends.
The author introduced each character slowly, reaching back to the past then leading you into the present so well that the Supremes became people you want to spend time with. Like old friends that fill your memory and sustain you through life's most difficult times. I feel blessed to have friends like these. That is why I know the deep appreciation these women had for each other.
This was an excellent telling of a miserably painful story. After listening to this book I had to listen to Janet Evanovich's Sizzling 16 to lift my mood. This may not sound like a good reveiw but I will probably listen to Every Last one again, it was so well written as is the Anna Qindlen style. 5 Stars!!
I really enjoyed this book. I selected it because Brunonia Barry's Lace Reader is on my list of all time favorite books. Map of true places has found it's place on my list too. The story is intricately woven, the characters are complicated but believable. I loved that there was mention of some of Lace Reader's characters. Thank you Ms. Barry for another entertaining book.
