I didn't get through the first CD disc & threw out the next 9 discs of this title without burning the rest . From now on I will listen to the book before I burn it to disc.
This book could have been a great listen and still don't know if I will finish it. I am embarrassed for a former actor whose voice is the same whether it be a 4-year-old, 40 year old, gunslinger, or madame!
I'm sure this is a wonderful interesting book by one of the greatest writers of all time and I'm sorry it was wasted by someone who just couldn't give it it's due diligence, interest, and artistic capabilities!
I love the Native American cultures and the knowledge, research & adventures written by this author. However, I do not care for her style of writing. She usually has multiple characters in different lives and in one sentence will jump ahead months or years and the reader is left scratching their head wondering what happened to the drama unfolding at the previous time zone. She might write about rituals, story telling, chants, songs, etc. for pages before you realize it is seven years later and there were a whole lot of good stories to be told in between times. Characters appeared and disappeared without a clue as to where or why.
I enjoyed "Ride The Wind" immensely and I did, in fact, read (listen) to "Ghost Warrior" to the end, even though it was one of the books which I described above.
I don't know if I would have liked this so much if I was READING it. The narrator Gene Engene is a master at storytelling, voices, accents, southern drawls, drunkin drawls, and always the right place for pauses and emphasis.
I know if Mr. Engene is telling it it is going to be good. Why, he is even the best at singing cowboy diddies and high pitched preachings of the old gospels!
I can't praise Mr. Engene enough! Thank you.
This author has a story and knows how to tell it! Loved every line of the whole series!!!!
I love D. Palmer - - -at first- - - then it was the same story, different names & places. For the price I figured how bad can it be, since I already read these two books in the past. I forgot how boring these were. These are her two worse books under another name!!! Bound to get my money's worth I skipped over most of the CDs. Since I would never listen to this book again, the CDs got chucked in the garbage.
Hard taput down!
There were too many hilarious moments to list, but I think trying to ride the donkey is the best.
Not impressed too much.
This book held all emotions in different chapters. Always waiting to find out what is going to happen.
I am sorry the first books of the McKettrick series are not on audio. I would buy them all as I have read most of them twice and will probably read them again, but it is like a different book when someone else is actually performing the story.
One who likes 3 hours of lovesick drivel.
I loved Liz Lowell's
I always like Laurel Merlington, she can bring voices of many characters to life.
Anger. If I heard any more
The first chapter sounded interesting, after that it sounded like a contest to see how many adjectives could be found for
Too much info & reasoning for what should have been common sense.
It was okay for a CD to go to sleep by, but if I was reading it, I would have skipped many paragraphs, pages & maybe even chapters.
Any scene where Trinity treated the insolent, spoiled, questionable female less than desirable.
It was hard for me to believe Leigh Greenwood was the author. It was like he was trying to stretch a 250 page book into a 500 page book!
