One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting. Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I've ever met in my life. He's the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I'm drawn to him as I've never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he's near, I need to remind myself that I am strong - but he is stronger.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

people who have never been in a real relationship and are happy with the fantasy.

Would you ever listen to anything by Katy Evans again?

    no

What does Charlotte Penfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

she reads well, however she is all one note, calm, and a bit lethargic.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Real?

Many scenes describing how beautiful he and his big erection are.

    Any additional comments?

Disappointed. Initially very happy that finally the girl has it happening. A career starting, her own history and accomplishments. And then.....another book where she is living for him, and the world begins and ends with whether or not he wants her.

What made the experience of listening to Flowers from the Storm the most enjoyable?

Loved the Story of the Quakers, the Friends and their code of truth telling and lack of vanity and frivolity against the life of a previously spoiled Duke and family. It is not a story conceit - the female character is imperfectly consistent throughout.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Flowers from the Storm?

Maddie meeting the King and the wet-nurse, on the night of the Ball. The entire story of the unwilling admission to the psychiatric facility and the discussion of the treatment and syndrome of almost being ''locked in".

What about Nicholas Boulton’s performance did you like?

    He is superb.

    Any additional comments?

I left this story for last despite the strong reviews because I did not want to read a story about a Mad Man in an Asylum. I thought that the female character would be a weak loving nurse of some sort. Instead this has been my favorite book and I almost didn't purchase it. Maddie is a wonderful character and the religious story, the mental illness and recovery story are both very strong and relevant for today. I found that I could associate myself with both stories, and the financial burden caused by illness. This is the most approachable story - compared to assassins and Hidden Princesses, that LK has written, and of course it's well written.

It’s 1950, and as the French Quarter of New Orleans simmers with secrets, 17-year-old Josie Moraine is silently stirring a pot of her own. Known among locals as the daughter of a brothel prostitute, Josie wants more out of life than the Big Easy has to offer. She devises a plan get out, but a mysterious death in the Quarter leaves Josie tangled in an investigation that will challenge her allegiance to her mother, her conscience, and Willie Woodley, the brusque madam on Conti Street.

Would you consider the audio edition of Out of The Easy to be better than the print version?

Enjoyed the New Orleans accents, so definitely believe the audio version is an excellent way to take in this story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Willie, the Madame. A reluctant Mother, although she would never say so, and very rough character, her back story evolves over the entire book.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Altheimers Scene with Charlie and Patrick. Jo wraps herself in an alternative family without requesting accolades. Also sets the stage for Patricks' back story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, walked around doing chores, hobbies, and took the story into the car with me. I love New Orleans and this story is so engaging that very easily time slips by and I could imagine myself in a Storyville. baudy house. The complicated life that real people lead shines through.

    Any additional comments?

Terrific drama, with a different kind of family that a young woman develops when she has to choose herself over blood. Jo, her female friends, and the Madame are natively strong women without waving a suffragette banner. Subtle drama set in a whore house.

Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true. Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin.

    Story
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

reasonably enjoyable chase, listened to the whole story, modestly entertained at the time but wanted more plot at the end - like chinese food, left hungry wanting substance. Reader was excellent and made the story 10x better than the content. I'm sure I would have turned off the story with a lesser reader.

What was most disappointing about Emma Chase’s story?

    Lust substituting for plot

    Which scene was your favorite?

Dual promo pitch meeting where Drew stands up for Kate against Executive and shows backbone.

Was Tangled worth the listening time?

I wouldn't. Prefer plot and story to romance/lust/positions/69.

    Any additional comments?

Liked the male POV. Liked the discussion with the reading/listening audience. Liked the audacity of Drew - even the unlikability much of the time - made him more complicated.

There’s nothing worse than living next door to your childhood nemesis, except maybe being forced to share your dream project with him, being blackmailed into going along with something that was just wrong on so many levels, and having your hot cocoa stolen by the person that drove you to drink it in the first place. As long as she has plenty of hot cocoa, a pair of pliers on hand and is able to resist Connor O’Neil’s bad boy charm then Rory James should be able to make it through this project with her sanity intact.

    Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Already have recommended it. The back story and present story are equally entertaining and well paced. The reader brings so much characterization into female and male, adult and childrens voices without overdoing the story. It is a strong feel good story despite the general antagonistic set up. The love story is sweet, with the hints of honest family discord.

What did you like best about this story?

The story is generally told from two points of view, His and Hers, without being totally obvious. The writing is tremendously funny, made funnier by the light touch of the reader. The back story is very strong and adds to the main story, is not distracting, nor a time waster. It is an adult book with fun adult sex as a normal part of this couple being attracted to each other, but the book is not entirely a sex book linked together by artificial set ups like some others. It is more of a funny, sexy, romance. In fact, if I were reading the book, there would not be a section that I would skip over.

What about Fran Jules’s performance did you like?

Her voice characterizations were individual, yet still she applied them with a light touch. She allowed the humor of the writing to tell the story. Her male voices were masculine just by being a bit low and scratchy. Very well done.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

He loves Me, He loves me Not.

    Any additional comments?

One of the most enjoyable 'Listen To's in a long time. The type of book I would exercise longer to, or sit in the car to hear just a bit more of. And needless to say I have purchased more of the Neighbor from Hell series from the same author.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Those wishing to learn the alternative misogynistic lifestyle of motorcycle clubs. I hoped for more of a story after the rave reviews.

Would you ever listen to anything by Madeline Sheehan again?

    no.

Have you listened to any of Tatiana Sokolov’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

she is a good smooth reader. Her voice adds to the story, she doesn't try to do too much with the different characters.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Undeniable?

I would have asked the author to decide if the 'hero' respects or disrespects women. In many scenes he stands up for them. In many scenes he is the most disgusting pig I've read.

I would have enlarged the story with the affair with the Lawyer and other self destructive relationships like Frankie. More relationship, less sex. This story is all about beauty, and sex.

    Any additional comments?

For a man who takes down people who disrespect women, including his son, the lead character treats the love of his life in the most despicable ways. Consistently. She is the most beautiful doormat. Tired of reading about Beautiful Loyal Doormats.

What made the experience of listening to The Sea of Tranquility the most enjoyable?

Two Excellent Narrators, both male and female were fantastic. Also the back story is revealed slowly in time as the plot progresses.

What does Kirby Heyborne and Candace Thaxton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great deal of emotion and frustration, and sometimes reluctant curiosity, or strident apathy. Sometimes characters are unlikeable, and I might skip over those parts or roll my eyes at the drama.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

spoiler alert: The scene where Nastia and Josh make love, and his complete inability to understand how he 'breaks her', what and why she is, but knows that he may lose her too.

    Any additional comments?

Utterly devastating understanding of the trauma of assault, self blame, self destruction, and distance from the burden of loving.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Repetitive sex, sex for sex's sake. Come on. Boring. Been there done that for the past 50 pages.

What was most disappointing about Raine Miller’s story?

Lack of character of Female character. At the most she was SO F*cking BEAUTIFUL. As Ethan loved to yell all the time.

Which character – as performed by Shane East and Grace Grant – was your favorite?

Ethan - very solidly devoted, intense. Interesting having the story told from male POV.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Annoyance, frustration, that women would buy in to such crap. Once dimensional female character.

    Any additional comments?

Cannot believe that a woman who has her life defined by a particular sexual trauma would be the sexual hot potato that this character is.

Where does The Witness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    top 10

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Witness?

heroine as a young girl, all dressed up out in a bar, first exposure to the Russian Mob

What does Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The humor in the face of the literalness of the Females take on things vs. easygoing humor in the Police Officer.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The girls description/view of life with Mom.

    Any additional comments?

Nora Roberts can do average and predictable. This book is neither. It is special. It takes a complicated, sweet, brilliant, almost autistic girl and plants her firmly in a terrible place by her own rebellion. The life she creates because of what happens is the makings of a great story. And the warm Law Enforcement official she encounters butts up against her rigid paranoia in a wonderful way. Doesn't sound like a keeper, but it is wonderfully crafted and very interesting and loving story.
