The Wasteland is a world beyond our own. It is a rough and ragged landscape under a two-moon sky, inhabited by monsters and creatures that could almost pass for human. Into this alternate world unwitting people are brought, from both past and present, for reasons none of them know. Chloe Mattison goes to sleep, drunk and heartbroken, in Washington, D.C., and wakes up in the Wasteland. Chloe is welcomed by Jack and Kitty, brother and sister from a Wild West frontier town. "You're one of us," they tell her, yet neither Jack nor Kitty, nor any of their companions, know why they were chosen.

What disappointed you about The Arrivals?

Just did not get anything out of it. Kept waiting for more to happen to make sense.

What could Melissa Marr have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Melissa should have shown that the wasteland was actually HELL.

In this six-story Christian western romance and mail order bride audiobook collection, you will find a variety of characters who find their soon-to-be significant other in a variety of ways, but always with the involvement of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Please enjoy this labor of love!

When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine's disappearance than his wife realizes. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows.

What would have made The Silkworm better?

This is the 2nd of JK Rowlings books that are under the Robert Galbraith byline. It is hard to listen to. Way to gross. graphic. Maybe I am a wimp but I just wish I had my credit back so I could get something worth listening to. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I am not sure she should be let out of the asylum. Terrible read/ listen.

What was most disappointing about Robert Galbraith’s story?

    Gross

Would you be willing to try another one of Robert Glenister’s performances?

    Maybe

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Silkworm?

I don't think the editor read any of this. They just published it on JK Rowlings name.

Eff was born a thirteenth child. Her twin brother, Lan, is the seventh son of a seventh son. This means he's supposed to possess amazing talent - and she's supposed to bring only bad things to her family and her town. Undeterred, her family moves to the frontier, where her father will be a professor of magic at a school perilously close to the magical divide that separates settlers from the beasts of the wild. With wit and wonder, Patricia Wrede creates an alternate history of westward expansion that will delight fans of both J. K. Rowling and Laura Ingalls Wilder.

What made the experience of listening to Thirteenth Child the most enjoyable?

Good after I was able to get into it. All the explanations at 1st were difficult to get into.As it was a different beginning to the US frontier than what I was used to I had to think a little different to understand. After I got further in it made more sense. Ready to read the 2nd in the series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Eff

Called to the scene of a high-profile murder, Brannon finds himself pitted against the vibrant, and vulnerable, junior investigator from his past. Years ago his heart had been intertwined with Josette Langley's, until she'd made an explosive accusation that had sent shock waves through political circles, and shattered his faith in her.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Story not good, Reading poor. Mispronounced names of city, counties and made Texas Rangers sound like horny fools. Someone needs to check the correct pronunciation of city, county names before releasing the audible.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Someone who knows Texas.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrator?

Someone from Texas. Bexar is pronounced Bear.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Texas Ranger?

    All this was just junk

Sharing the unique beauty and history of the Southwest had always delighted Rainy Gordon, and now as a tour guide for the Harvey House Detours, she's given ample opportunity. When the colorful array of well-to-do guests includes a famous movie actor, she is surprised to find his attentions are drawn her way. She is equally intrigued when Duncan Hartford accompanies her trips as a driver trainee.
