I love suspense, murder mysteries, psycho thriller books most of all! I listen when not taking classes for my masters degree.

I saw the movie first before I ever knew it was a book (it wasn't mandatory reading in middle school for me). It benefitted me, in my opinion, because I was able to see the movie playing in my minds-eye as I was listening. I enjoyed it greatly.

All she knows is that she is seriously injured, unable to move her left arm, unable to return to work. My sister is Shana Day, a notorious murderer who first killed at fourteen. Incarcerated for thirty years, she has now murdered more people while in prison than she did as a free woman.

A peaceful Minnesota town, where crime is something that just doesn’t happen, is about to face its worst nightmare. A young boy disappears. There are no witnesses, no clues — only a note, cleverly taunting, casually cruel. Has a cold-blooded kidnapper struck? Or is this the reawakening of a long-quiet serial killer?

The first time I read this book it was via paperback, which was years ago. After listening to it, it was like I never read it. Tami Hoag is a great writer. I know this was one of her early books and it's actually more of a romance than suspense/murder thriller but it's an awesome combination.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. In some ways Tris reminded me of Bella from Twilight which was a bit annoying but she had her moments. If you're reading this before you watch the movie....DON'T WATCH THE MOVIE. You will be highly disappointed in the movie, at least I was. They could have done so much better. Anyways, great book.
