What made the experience of listening to A Secret Rage the most enjoyable?

The narrative was well-done: expressive & engaging

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No extreme reaction

    Any additional comments?

Thought the plot was "draggy" compared to other books by this author. I've especially enjoyed reading the Lily Bard books. In comparison, this book was less intriguing.

Still reeling from her mother's recent death, Karen Whitlaw is stunned when she receives a package containing a mysterious notebook from her estranged father, whom she has barely seen since his return from the Vietnam War decades ago. Then, a shocking phone call: Karen's father has been murdered on the gritty streets of New Orleans.

    Assassins, Police & Romance

Who was your favorite character and why?

The heroine who was able to defend herself.

    Any additional comments?

The plot was well-designed, and I was involved throughout the narrative. The descriptions of New Orleans were evocative, those of the hunt(s) dramatic. Not having read any other books by this author, I found the sex unexpectedly explicit - the summary posted on Audible didn't include information re: that part of the narrative! Thankfully, the physical attraction between the main characters did not interfere with the story. I appreciated the link to the Vietnam War, and thought the description of a fictional sniper's thinking well-done.
