Wow, this is a broad, far reaching story! A fun twist that surprised me. Paks has come a long way since she left her childhood home.
I hated for it to end! This is a sweet story to repeatedly listen to every few years. If only the world now would focus on "being good."
I was hoping for more story. This is a story, but it is just about the people, it is a constant narrative of names. So and so did this, etc., etc., etc.
I am crazy about this series and I hated it to end. This last book did not cover as many delivery stories but gave more details about the wonderful characters.
I loved this book and wanted to hear more. This is a very upbeat, behind the scenes look at this fabulous movie. Andre' was mentioned multiple times and I am indeed pleased to have heard more about this "gentle, positive giant." My only complaint is that it was too short, I want to know more about many parts of the movie.
I was so excited to find this series! I hung in there for 2 hours and then had to quit because of the numerous F bombs. I am sad because the story was really great however I chose not to listen.
Oh my goodness! Jennifer records the stories of heroes, she records the details of their lives and brings them to life. This series should considered a classic.
It is also a pleasure to listen to the narrator!
Great short stories. I enjoyed all but the first because it was entirely from the point of beast. Beast talk (I/we/us) is a little annoying, however the rest were fabulous!
I do not enjoy bad language! After the first hour, I turned it off to move on to another listen. I will be returning this book.
This book stole my heart, such a pleasant surprise! A true story from the 1950's London with some surprising similarities to a Dickens novel. I was shocked at the suburbs that seemed to have stopped in time . . . hard times. It was interesting to listen to Jennifer's opinion of people would change as she learned their story. She, like many of us, would sometimes make a negative first impression and as the story progresses, we were given insight that would provide understanding and admiration. The stories include patients and also fellow students and nuns.
This book is a treasure! I loved Dr. Siri and his assistants, the government, and the culture. This is a book of attitudes, each character is well developed and has a place in my heart. This is not a fast-paced, high adventure narrative. It is just a grand, enjoyable story. Dr. Siri is always in some sort of mess and thumbs his nose at the government. I will probably listen to this again some time in the future.
