No matter what this seems to be the core. It may get amplified, or reduced by people and the situations their in, but this is the core string of it all.
This gave me insight and understanding, and made me understand there are things I will never understand, into why after 20 years it has to end. And it made me laugh in the process.
OSC has a good game plan with his Mither Mage series. I really enjoyed Lost Gate and Gate Theif, so followed it up with this novella. I'd like to see more. It's a good world he's creating, though I'd like to see more adult geared lines, following those people that started as teens with Ender and Alvin.
Too convoluted and not enjoyable. I try to get through at least 3 chapters of any book since some take time to unfold, but with this there was no desire at all.
I enjoy physics and cosmology but have no formal training. And I have an issue with String and M-theory- but this put it into perspective to where I still don't like string theory, I will tolerate M-theory, and I understand now why so many physicists want it to work.
This is a great primer for anyone that enjoys these sorts of topics, and a good intro for those that think they might.
OSC is an author I always come back to, and always look for his new releases. I enjoyed this story, and now look forward to The Gate Thief. I most appreciate OSC for the way he intertwines mystical, legend, and physics, science together. He also does an excellent job with characters and characterizations.
I've read Mars and Venus, In the Bedroom, Diet, and now this. I guess if I read them all I should not have had to read this (-: I believe in a lot of what he says in all his books and about relationships, but he really does write more for female understanding. If more females would read and understand, or couples together then discuss, these books could save many troubles.
As for this one, he gave me some information that has allowed me to forgive both her and myself, and will make it a little easier to move on. For that, the whole thing was worth it, But again, like most books in this vein, its there more for a woman to understand the mystery of herself.
Live Free or Die was fun and entertaining. The premise drew me in, the writing style is good, and The narrator is fantastic. This book made me buy the other two and listen in order. This is by far the best of the three, Followed by citadel. Hot gate seemed disjointed, almost like it was a "Had to do" book rather than final of the series.
Tyler Vernon is a helluva guy- he is the guy you wish all these rich guys in the world actually were.
Mark Boyett does a great job inflecting the different characters and bringing them to life. I will actually look at other books he's narrated and give them a look.
This book drew me in immediately and caused me to purchase the other two before I finished this one.
The abriged paperback was very good. It portrayed a great era in American History and made Jackson come to life without too much overwhelming reading. I would love to read the entire anthology, but having read the single volume abridged version it is time to move on. I recommend this unabriged audio version since it the whole version Remini wrote and is THE authoriatative version on Jackson. His abridged version has made Jackson one of my favorite presidents to date.
