I can't recommend this book. As a mother, my children are my number one priority. You reject them and I'm out of there faster than you can say bye. Heather had a baby and never told Todd. When the baby is 3 years old she feels overwhelmed and decides to look for the baby daddy. That's when my issues started with this story. Your child is your responsibility. How can that character even consider dropping the baby with her father just so she can have an easier life and pursue acting. That's selfish. Then Heather arrives at Whispering Wind and Todd rejects the kid over and over again. Even after the paternity test he still said he didn't want custody only wanted to pay child support and Heather stayed there and insisted?!?! And even through that she had sex with him?!?! OMG! That character has no pride and doesn't really value her own daughter. I don't get it. If Todd didn't want to interact with his daughter then Heather needed to move on, get the child support and hire a nanny or sitter and continue her life trying to be the best mom. I know that the author's justification is that Todd had a past experience that made him be afraid to be near kids but why not simply say it or request to be accompanied by the mother when e interacted with his own daughter.
I've read and enjoyed other "secret baby" stories but in all of the others the heroes were always willing and happy to spend time with their kids. Their issues would only be with the mother. Although I really disliked this story I must say that the narration was very good. Maybe that's why I finished it.
This was a nice brief escape. A very short love at first sight story with a wonderful happy ending that left me feeling good. Very good narration as well. Not worth a credit due to the length but definitely worth buying and listening. Great under $10 buy.
Couldn't finish this book. Listened to half of it and hated every second. The hero is a douche. He proposed to the heroine and the. Disappeared for 4 years and then came back expecting to win her back in 7 dates. For me the story was dreadfully boring and the narration was unremarkable. I'm sorry I wasted time and money on this.
This story was rather short but entertaining. I was very surprise to learn that the heroine is black. This was actually a biracial historical romance. That was a first for me and it was nice. I don't know how historically accurate this story is since it's set in the 1800's and they were able to marry at the end but yet maybe England was ahead of the USA in biracial marriage in the 19th century. Out heroine is independent, strong and a genious to boot. Our hero is a rake but his change into a loving husband and partner is realistic.
Obviously the narration is very good and you can't expect anything less from Mrs. Rosalyn Landor. All considered this is a very good story if you find it on sale but I wouldn't spend a credit on it because of the length.
The On Dublin Street series is basically on auto buy for me. This installment was exceptionally good. If you're new to the series then I highly recommend you read it in order. Not that it's esencial but it does follow an order and this book specifically gives you an update on most of the prior couples. Oh it was so good!! I specially liked this book because it was different in the fact that the damaged one and the one that messed up was the heroine (most books it's always the man). In this book Shannon was the one that messed up and had to grovel in order to get Cole back. And let me tell you that groveling made me cry it was so sweet and perfect. Cole has been one of the most deliciously perfect heroes I've ever read on a book. I loved Cole. I LOVED this book.
I didn't really like this story. Mostly due to the narrator. Her male voices were pretty bad. Then the story was not much better either. Romero was a player and way to aggressive. His marriage proposal was atrocious and the story felt juvenile for me.
Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite authors. Her stories are funny and usually full of an intense romance. This one did not live up to what I expect from her stories. Yes it was funny but the chemistry between the Joe and Gabrielle was not all that. It didn't help that the narrator didn't really add emotion or made the story come alive like others can. It's a fun cute story but not heart melting like her hockey series.
This was another winning combination of superb writing by Lisa Kleypass and amazing narration by Rosalyn Landor. The Hathaways are a fun and eccentric bunch. I'Ve enjoyed this series very much. These books should be read in order but it is not vital.
I loved this story. I didn't read the first one and Indidnt feel lost so that's a good thing. Even though this is a series each book can be stand alone because the story is complete. I loved Kev. He was passionate, intense, loyal and his character went through so many changes and emotions to become the man he was intended to be. I also liked Winn and how she fought to heal and to live life to the fullest. There were several unexpected twists and turns in this story that made it even more interesting and the romance was AMAZING!!! Great chemistry and tension. This was an excellent story and I enjoyed learning a little about the Romani culture.
Narration: Rosalyn Landor is my favorite narrator for historical romances. She nailed the accents and made each character distinct. She also added the emotion and intensity that the story needed. I highly recommend this book!!!
I really like this narrator. Her Scottish accent is perfect (I'm pretty sure she must be from Scotland). She does very distinct voices for all the characters and enhances the story with emotion and intensity.
The story is good. There is a bit more violence that I would like but the romance is hot... And sweet and it has a few twists and turns I wasn't expecting. The ending was very nice too.
I LOVED this story! The romance is very well developed and the sexual tension was hot! The story and the narration were both passionate, intense and very interesting. I can't believe that the rest of the series is not available. Please add more books by this author!!!
